What do you think of QR2? I like what it does and how much better it is from previous version. Its just hard to consider upgrade considering its such a small thing + not extra needed + price. Otherwise after using it for 4 days its pretty good. Sturdy. Solid. Nonetheless new setup is WICKED! Upgraded some other things as well on my setup so I might actually do some setup tour video? If you want :)

nice to see no movement between wheel and base anymore. But it came much too late - i (and a lot of other people) already switched to simucube or other brands because of this (and for other reasons ...). The price is cheeky. +250€ to get a connection which other competitors did right in their first shot.

You'll love the 920, mines on a playseat challenge with shifter and once dialed in doesn't make a loud sound as most say. Been sim racing almost every evening with it last 4yrs, i also got a 923 last amazon prime day ready for when ever this packs up, sim racing is so addictive. Enjoy 👍

I am massively in love with the QR2. It's gonna take me a good year to save what few spare Euros I do have, in order to get the replacement shaft for my CSL DD, and then three wheel sides for my 3 wheels. Totally worth it though, by the look of things. Congrats to you, and a big thumbs up to Fanatec.

6:45 Jardier, you used the wrong screws here which can damage the QR2 Base-Side. I highly recommend to re-read the manual and install the correct screws to not damage your QR2 Base-Side. This is an extremely important step in the manual.

@@Jardier You actually re-used the old screws which were mounted on the metal washer. There are only 5 wheels listed in the manual where you actually should re-use the existing screws, those are the CSL Univeral Hub (v1 and v2), the GT DD Pro wheel, the CSL P1 V2, the CSL BMW and the CSL ELite WRC. On every other wheel you have to use the new provided screws. So in case of your Formula v2 the re-use of the existing screws was wrong, the screws are too big and are now colliding with your QR2 Base-Side which will get damaged by these collisions now.

@@Jardier yeah that manual doesn't do a good job at all at explaining this properly. the pictures only directions are ridiculous. the picture makes it look like the wheels they list are the only wheels you need to use the included new screws. it's the opposite. the screws pictured are not the same screws they include which is why its confusing i think. watching the video was the only way to really know this as the video puts text under it stating what to do. how the thought those instructions would be ok is beyond me.

Jardier you are missing out not getting the dd+ it feels stronger then 15nm and ask any dd1 or dd2 owner who made the switch its a mich bigger upgrwde in feel then you think finally a custpm servo motor! Like simagic, simucube and asetek. And yes it feels like it. The dd+ never loses torque its always heavy unless you lose grip which is how it should be. No dead spots no anything like that just stable ffb that insanely detailed.

Awesome setup! I'm happy for your success! I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but the qr2 doesn't require you to pull the collar back when install the wheel. It just snaps into place when pushing it on

Jardier. How close is it to real experiences? That is a question for the Pros. Of course this new DD2 is going to perform better than the ones before. Your comments were about it compared to others. You have been in the driver's seat of a real deal racing car and felt how the steering feels. How close is this, (off the shelf product), sim steering getting to coping the real world experience? I think the people that only have Sim Racing experience and no experience driving the real deal, (I've never driven the real deal myself), would be thrilled using the DD2. Good review. Looks like a great product.

I have the same button box, but with the Porsche logo on the wheel rim. My only problem with it is that the top of the wheel interferes with the visibility at the bottom of my monitor. I was considering to cut the top out, but eventually settled with another rim (different distributor) with the top of the wheel removed. That new QR2 is tempting though....

DD2? That one looks like a DD1.5 because it appears to have carbon-fibre covers like the DD2 but also has "FANATEC" written across the top like DD1. If I ever need to send in my DD2, I'll cover any logos with a wrap.

Looks super good i think you should use enough force on the wheel so that the FF bar doesn't show clipping. That's what I've been told at least. Enough force for the wheelbase to handle what's sent from the game

Tbh, all of the reviews are suggesting that the performance of the QR2 Pro & base are negligible, & the QR2 Base is the same price as the old QR1, and will still be included with all of Fanatics mid-high end wheels. It doesn't seem more expensive than the QR1 by any means at least to me.

QR2 price might be understandable but the new shaft should have been sent free of charge. Now that people are willing to buy this new shaft plus a new QR2 for each wheel (today these items are already out of stock) this will never happen.

Jardier love the videos! I gotta know, we all have to know. How long have you had the QR2 but couldn't say anything? Also question would u highly recommend the DD2 over the DD1 for some1 comming from a much lower powered unit? In my country there is a big price difference between the DD1 and DD2

Hope your DD2 works well for you. I dumped all my Fanatec gear a long time ago. Their customer service is terrible so bad that I stopped sim racing even though I replaced all my gear with other companies' stuff. I don't like saying bad things about companies but this was the worst experience of my life and I was 47 years old when this happened. And this was all pre-pandemic times so it had nothing to do with that.

Nice! That's a 300mm GT wheel. They have a nice 320mm rim that is great for older cars, too. I have entirely too many Fanatec wheels and univeral HUBs to splurge on the QR2, but it looks great. My DD2 has done well for a few years, love it. It's nice to take a bigger rim here and there and go rip it in AC original, the FFB is so good in AC. !

What's the difference between the gold QR2 and the black QR2?

Only the gold. So visual. The gold one is FIA certified, in all race cars it has to have gold color if its quick release for safety reasons. So in our case its roleplay and design 🤣

I havent had to do any changes at all to my setup. Havent measured but I would say its same or plus minus 1cm :)
