Francesca Gonshaw who played Maria got offered a role in Howard’s Way as wet as limp lettuce Leo Howard’s girlfriend for part of a series of that do left to go to a more serious show to progress her career, didn’t work out though they didn’t renew her character and wrote her out in favour of a real plain Jane.
