This filmation He-Man is one of the very best I've ever seen. I have them all, except the Prince Adam Cringer set, it's on pre-order. I love this cartoon line . I'm 50 and when I saw the first wave come out I knew I'd be collecting them all since I was not so far behind as I was in origins. Lol Subscribed, awesome review.

I actually prefer the Mini-Comic head for He-Man. I'd be thrilled to buy or trade for any unwanted Mini-Comic He-Man heads so I could put them on all of my different versions of He-Man.

Great review as always!! I really like the 2021 vintage sculpt He-man figure , but this filmation line has really grown on me the last few weeks . Teela and Trap jaw look great and as you mentioned the packaging card art is amazing.

Excellent review! I never collected the toys as I was a teenager when they came out but the animation series I watched sometimes and liked it so Filmation is my strongest connection.I would have loved to have the classics but I missed those. I started collecting action figures during the pandemic with Origins.I love this cartoon collection and this He-man and I can't wait to get some of the main Filmation characters that are missing from Origins like Queen Marlena and Cringer, along with a more Filmation accurate Prinve Adam.

if the cartoon collection where released back in the 80's it would have been the best version - i cant get why Mattel is sooooo obsessed with muscular deformed squatting men posture when other companies are aiming to get the best image of what we saw on TV - Eternians walk upright not monkey like bow legged poses - that new body looks good on beast characters but with humans its still doesnt have a good proportion - great comparison and review

Hi A.Q.! The original 80s Masters of the Universe overall toy design was inspired by the then popular sword and sorcery novel and comic genre as an attempt to have a home run toy line since Mattel's CEO turned down the manufacturing and distribution of Star Wars toys (he thought that franchise would fail.) Anyways, the designs were like that since they wanted the figures to be bigger, stronger, more aggressive and dynamic than the small Star Wars and G.I Joe figures format. The designers were inspired by body builders too. That's why the original 1982 and later MOTU toys (and the newer Origins line) look like that. And more importantly, you have to remember that most of the figures had the unique MOTU twist-to-punch feature, so the legs had to be a firm and viable handling method for kids to play with them. Look up here in KZbin the original TV spots where they show how you were supposed to play with them. The "official" stories were the included mini-comics that actually changed the lore from one figure wave to the other since they were really just play suggestions to be recreated by children. The cartoon premiered the later year (1983) as commercial support for the figures, but with very toned down aesthetics and stories due to TV children's entertainment regulations. The mini comics later kinda merged the lore with the cartoon's, sharing characters like Cringer and Orko, which didn't exist in the mini comics. Anyhow, that's why Mattel's obsessed with that crouching pose... it's the original recipe! I actually was one of the kids that were upset the cartoon characters didn't look like the toys. When classics came out and I was older, I thought to myself "They look good, but something's missing" and I didn't get into collecting them. When Origins and its updated articulations came out, it sparked the child in many of us because the extra articulations were what we wanted back then.

@@julioguerrero8849 i had around 28 vintage MOTU back then - and good thing i sold them all, same with my Joe line and the vintage Transformers- coz with all the improvements in the toy industry , i prefer having these Eternians with normal human stances and proportions with the Filmation design integrated- like what i saw in the cartoon (much like the BTAS line) and not based on some research and other restrictions - I do have these cartoon collection now but started to get weary coz of their "style" - they still look like colorful dwarves of Moria 😁 to me....
