Fancy Sandwiches Vending Machine in Japan - Eric Meal Time

I found a new vending machine in Akihabara, Tokyo that offers three different types of “Katsu sando” - a Japanese sandwich made with deep-fried breaded pork on soft-white bread - The crispy and juicy cutlet (hence the name “katsu” meaning “cutlet”) is traditionally prepared with pork but it can range from chicken and beef to even seafood. In this vending machine, a very special hamburger cutlet sandwich is also offered that I just had to try. OMG!

@@gerry2893 It's not like we don't have vending machines at all though. We could also have them inside of buildings like Japan how has vending machine restaurants. It's less to do with vandalism and security and more to do with logistics. Japan's vending machines are tended to at least once a day, sometimes several times a day. Ours are maybe once a month if you're lucky. You'd need to have companies willing to create a system to deal with fresh food and we just don't have that right now. Also to consider is that something like this might work in a place like New York City or other cities where there's a lot of foot traffic, but for the most part Americans drive everywhere so vending machines aren't that profitable, at least not ones that require a lot of maintenance and attention like these. It's not impossible as we continue to march towards automating everything that vending machines will become more popular but I just don't see it as likely right now.

In the US, the sandwiches would be stale and inedible. No refilling the machine several times a day as in Japan. In the US, the machines would be refilled every few weeks or even months.
