Instructions for working this stitch are below, and on my website here:
verypink.com/20...
Instructions for working this stitch:
Row 1: P1, Ktbl the second stitch on the left needle (leaving that stitch on the needle), K the first stitch, pull both stitches off the left needle, P1
Row 2: K1, P into the second stitch on the left needle (leaving that stitch on the needle), P the first stitch, pull both stitches off the left needle, K1
Repeat these two rows for the pattern.
For the nicest looking bind-off, BO on Row 1, in pattern. It's a little tricky to pull one stitch over the other after working into the second stitch on the left needle, but it's possible! Otherwise, you can work the BO in a P1, K2 rib.
Instructions for working this stitch in-the-round:
Cast-on a multiple of 3
Row 1: P1, Ktbl the second stitch on the left needle (leaving that stitch on the needle), K the first stitch, pull both stitches off the left needle
Row 2: P1, K into the front of the second stitch on the left needle (leaving that stitch on the needle), K the first stitch normally, pull both stitches off the left needle
Information on things you'll see in this video:
The bulky yarn I used for demonstration is Lion Brand Hometown USA. I demonstrated using size 13 US (9mm) needles.
The yarn used in the gray swatch is Malabrigo Chunky, and I used size 10.5 US (6.5mm) needles.
The yarn I used in the pink sample is Be Sweet Satisfaction, color Raspberry 709, using size 10.5 needles (6.5mm).
The needles I used are bamboo, made by Clover.
The poncho on the mannequin is the Easy Folded Poncho, knit in Knit Picks City Tweed DK:

Left Needle, Right Needle, we all make those mistakes in our tutorials haha... I can't even count how many times I have flubbed a term or a technique. I love your videos, and this stitch is absolutely beautiful! can't wait to use it in a project somewhere!

To make it look more like the flat pattern, I think you want to bring the needle *behind* the first stitch, come forward between them, knit the second stitch and then knit the first stitch. It's an awkward motion, but it leaves the left leaning stitch in front instead of behind as you're doing.

Love the stitch. After some playing around, am going to try a hat in the round. Word of caution, use a loose cast on. It will make the first row much easier

Love the look of this stitch! But I can't wrap my head around how to pull it off as a combination knitter. My working yarn wraps counterclockwise on my knit stitch, but clockwise on my purls. This affects which side of the needle my leading leg is on, and it's different based on whether I'm working a flat piece or in the round. Figuring this out will definitely make for good mental exercise!

i love this pattern, however i should've used smaller needles for a tighter look. I'm using a Red Heart Super Saver brand, with a tie-dye look, using size 8 needles. I'm making a Scoodie using this pattern. I'm looking forward to it (n.n)

Love the stitch pattern and that is a two row repeat.... I have trouble with longer more complicated patterns. Anyway can you give me an idea of what the grey swatch was yarn weight and needles used? Maybe worsted and size 8 or 9 needles? Thanks again and love your channel!

Melissa Vines - you'll always find all of the information about everything you see in my videos (yarn, needles, patterns, notions, etc) in the video description field, just below the video. The yarn used in the gray swatch is Malabrigo Chunky, and I used size 10.5 US (6.5mm) needles.

I think it's the fact that you're knitting the second stitch first. It makes it overlap, if that makes sense.

love this stitch so much, I used it to make a scarf but my scarf starts curling when it's about 30cm long, just one side of the hem's curl, the other side's still ok help me @@
@verypinkknits
@verypinkknits 10 жыл бұрын
Hiên Hiên Tiểu - this stitch shouldn't curl...my best guess is that you are using a needle size too small for the yarn you're using. Using a bigger needle with the same yarn should prevent curling.
