I’ve recently discovered your wonderful videos. After watching a few, I was able to quickly learn the Norwegian knit and purl techniques that Arne has demonstrated. Being able to knit this way is a life changer for me because I have severe rheumatoid arthritis. The Norwegian method is very ergonomic and I experience far less hand pain. Thank you for all that you do and for showing me that I can knit again. I’m also a dog lover and very much enjoy your fearless moose hunter, Freya😊

I am doing a sock pattern that calls for this ribbing for the very top of the cuff. Initially I hated this stitch because I was fumbling so much (we call it knit through the back loop), but I’m slowly becoming okay with it. 😆 Thank you for commenting that it makes for a skinnier knit…I was having a hard time understanding WHY the pattern designer was using this stitch, but wanted to stick with it.

I knew about the twisted knit stitch but hadn’t really seen some ribbing done with it and I really like the look of it. It might have been nice for the dog sweater that I’ve started for my son’s greyhound. Of course, I’m also wishing I had won those Prym knitting needles you gave away a while back!!! ;} Anyway, I was interested in seeing how Arne purls because I’ve noticed before that his stitch making was a little different so I’m glad for the knitting culture lesson along with his demo of it. I will give it a try. I knit my stitches the same way but I usually bring my index finger forward and then catch the purl stitch with the needle so my finger does move a little bit. Bittersweet story: my mom taught all three of her girls to knit as young as 5. Her knitting was exquisite. Fast forward three decades and my excellent knitter sister got a job in a yarn shop and was told she was knitting incorrectly. She re-learned and showed me. We were bewildered. Fast forward two decades and I find ‘Eastern European’ knitting online. It’s the way my mom knitted! She was correct, just different: knit in the back, purl wrapping the stitch clockwise. So when I see this renewed interest in twisted stitch, it feels so affirming.😊 and you are correct it makes the knit stitch Pop! My mom was taught knitting by an Eastern European woman!

Legger opp 1 maske ekstra som brukes å sy sammen med madrass sting i siden. Håper dette også er nytt for noen, kanskje ikke for dere to. This also work wonders on bought sides of your knitting, sawn together with madrass stitches 👍🧚♀️
