In the summer of 1977 I considered myself a rock ‘n’ roll aficionado but I hadn’t really exposed myself to Elvis. Obviously I knew who he was. I was dating a guy who had a roommate who was obsessed with him. It was through that roommate that I started reading about him and listening to some of his records. Yes I said records. The summer continued and in August my boyfriend and I drove up to Massachusetts and visited my family. When we were driving back to New York we had the radio on and then They interrupted the music to tell us that Elvis had died. We were on the highway doing 60 miles an hour we pulled over. It’s just flattened me. I felt like I just got here and now he’s leaving. Something about this movie[ and I haven’t seen it yet] but looking at the interviews and the trailers, its bringing up what is turning out to be a long buried Sadness.

The young lady who conducted this interview was the most prepared and knowledgeable than anyone else who conducted interviews during the film’s media tour. I really enjoyed the insight in her questions to the artists that elicited such great responses. Well Done!

Um one thing Olivia got wrong in this interview, they (Priscilla & Elvis) were not in the middle of WWII in Germany. Elvis was in the army from 1958-60, well after WWII. That being corrected, I can honestly say as an Elvis fan since age 3 in 1956, this movie was incredible. Austin was amazing as Elvis. I've seen every Elvis movie he himself made, every movie about Elvis starring other people and I've never, ever felt like this about any other movie about Elvis. If I could, I'd personally thank Baz & Austin for bringing Elvis back to life for a couple of hours. I've raved about this movie and Austin's portrayal to everyone I know. I love that Priscilla approves of this movie, and the fact that they did their research and even spoke with Elvis' family for the biopic. The time and effort they put in is undeniable. They deserve all the praise for the hard work. I really hope Austin wins an award for this role, and Laz was a genius in the style of the movie. The movie is 👌🏻. I haven't seen any other portrayals of Elvis, though I've wanted to. After this movie, I don't know if I care to see the others; I feel they won't compare.😝 I wish them all the best in their careers. Like others have said, thank you all for the hard work, humanizing Elvis, and bringing him to life for us who didn't have the privilege to attend any of his concerts. Great respect for them, and condolences to the family. This movie is special. R.I.P. Elvis Presley. You are most certainly not forgotten.💛

You can tell this movie took along time, two years to produce. It's not like they all got together for 3 months and then wrapped, which is the way Kurt Russell's movie was made and Rhys- Myers too. This was a work of love for Baz and Austin. And took Austin a long time to nail Elvis character.
@no1nestandsalone3872 жыл бұрын
Yah and that’s why their portrayals were bad. I loved Rhys Meyers version but he lip sang and Elvis came off as a bit selfish I think. Austin really cared about his character and got deep into elvis’ soul. It was amazing!❤

4.54 comment from Olivia de Jong, ‘They met during the middle of World War II’ . LOL! That would make Priscilla in her ‘90s now lol. As an Aussie, I’m amazed Olivia de Jong cannot remember basic year 10 high school history taught in our curriculum. Baz would have internally cringed but he didn’t correct her. The Image is One Thing.. I don’t know what the right words are, When I watch what he entered into, his voice was magical but for the time he was in the popular culture said unbelievable comments and the same from other famous blues artists when I see Elvis saying he can’t criticize any other artists “There’s room for all of us” what a gifted person he was not just in his voice but compassion to touch so many it’s still being felt in 2022😎 There is only one King and he said that too. Thank you God for letting us all lose ourselves in the gift of music That’s made for EVERYONE!

Good interview, but Olivia talked way too much (probably perfect casting lol....Priscilla annoys me in that she never seems to recall she is Elvis' EX-wife, not his widow. Elvis made 31 films which is quite amazing but he has said that the one film he never saw was "Jailhouse Rock" and it's due to the tragic loss of his costar Judy Tyler who tragically died in a car accident after she finished filming the film. I am excited to see the human side to the story of Elvis Presley because it's the duality between the human being and the performer who would become known as "The King of Rock and Roll". That balance is what Elvis was always trying to seek throughout his career where he wants to be with his family, take care of them but at the time service other families by being this superhero type figure was a huge burden he carried because it's the internal battle he was going through within himself. This trailer shows the battle within Elvis Presley.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s, Elvis was a "little" before my time, but he had a resurgence of popularity in the early 1970s. Congratulations to Austin Butler's answer it was Elvis' charisma young girls were drawn to. I know Hollywood thinks it was the "sexiness" from a lustful point of view, but it really wasn't. You see thats where boys and girls are different. Boys are focused on lust in their teen years, but girls are focused on Romance. They adore young men who are their heroes, who love them only, and would sacrifice to save them. THOSE were the songs Elvis sang. From the heart. THAT is why the girls were "hysterical" ... he unlocked the key to their hearts.
