Nice reaction. Yes strings (Pakistani band) directed that season. It is also to tell you that first 6 seasons were directed by "Rohail Hyatt" who had taken coke studio to very next level were internationally CS pak was acclaimed specially due to season 6 which was a totally different idea in sub continent at that time. 6-10 seasons were directed by Strings. But in season 9 strings come up with a new idea by assigning different music composer to compose tracks from their sides like Shuja Haider, Jaffer Zaidi, Shairaz Uppal, Noorie, Fakhir etc composed their set of songs and strings overall directed them, this idea not only develop competition among different composers but also helps finding great composers like shuja haider (who also directed this track ; who was saying Allah ho Akbar in this track), noorie etc. In season 10 they partially used that scheme but in season 9 and 10 strings have worked alot on sound engineering and instrumentation. Strings actually adopted mathematical approach, developing parts, calculations for each part and instrument. but overall Roahil Hyatt: soulful, magic, sufi, fusion with most jazzy and bluesy touch, keeping the originality of song maintained, explored new talent specially singers, hunger for new things. Strings: mathematical approach, great sound engineering, explored new composers, much noisy, good use of instruments Ali Hamza, Zohaib Qazi: tried to copy Roahil approach with new thought but mainly failed, explored new talent but didnt utilize them. Actually confused b/w Roahil, strings and their own approach
