This song is based on "the prayer of kumail" or dua e kumail in arabic. This song represents real islam and real muslims. Not the muslims who shout allah o akbar and kill innocent people but the muslims who spread love, who pray, and who are humble. This represents real islam.

You guys have interpreted it well. Something to note is that Islam respects all of the prophets revealed in scriptures. We have to study the lives of all the prophets from Adam, Abraham, Jesus down to Muhammad peace be upon them and their families. There is no competition or difference in the message revealed and the cause they fought for. This hamd shows how we can sing and make music to praise God with respect and no vulgar actions or words. One thing I never liked with the translation in this song is that of the Urdu word "ghulami" to the English "slaves". The semantic translation is exactly correct, but in the context of the prayer, it takes on a different meaning. One of the lines refers to becoming "slaves to Your true servants" - again, both "servants" and "slaves" are translations of the word "ghulami" - but in this context, the intention is that the singer of this prayer is willingly sacrificing themselves at God's Door in order to cross a self-made river of sin and repentance and eventually be able to serve His "true servants" - i.e. the angels and prophets and blessed persons who came before. It's very powerful and simultaneously frightening, but the punishments being experienced by the narrator of the prayer are all of his own making. None of it is due to God's actions or wrath upon that person. The prayer, in fact, is only to ask God to save him from his own stupidity and recklessness.

Didn't see anyone mention this in the comments so far Nick, @6:43, "we are fated to burn in the river of fire". This is referring to the fact that if Allah's Rehmat (Allah's blessing) does not cover us on the day of judgement, than we are going to burn in hellfire (described in great scary detail in the Quran). To avoid that fate, the next line the person prays "but if You become our support, we can be saved". Hope that is a bit more clear. I love your reactions to such songs the best amongst all the different folks. There is no pretentiousness, just trying to simply understand. As the song mentions "sirat-ul-mustakin", the right path. No one can lay claim that their path is the right path, only in death will we ever find the definitive answer, but that doesn't stop us from searching for it. Hope you also get to watch and understand cricket better.

That might be a reason. But let me say it again it is my own observing logic, and not sure about it. The Coke Studio is already a second party and if one pick the video for reaction it becomes third party. Where some allow it to third party some don't .
