Problem is probabbly most fans didn't whine. Most fans shut up and enjoyed the game. People like me loved Aiden and didn't think he was two dimensional, but then assholes (who like DMC) whined about him, so they said Fuck You to the people who actually liked their game, and made this game for the people who DIDN'T like Watchdogs.....it's really dumb. Feels like more and more companies care less about treating their current, loyal, long time fans right, and more about bringing in new, younger, hip fans, regardless of how many old fans they actually lose. Like sure you got 50 tween beebopers to like your game, but you lose 200 mature adult fans (the fans who don't have to scream and beg mommy and daddy to buy them the game, the fans who can afford to spend stupid money on games. Fans like me, who can easily afford games, but can't find anything worth throwing my cash out anymore)

This video sums up my opinion about this game perfectly. The first game wasn't perfect - sure, it was downgraded to hell and the protagonist, while showing promise was rather bland, but the overal product managed to introduce a tone of mystery, intrigue and conspiracy that I really enjoyed. And instead of working on that, learning from their mistakes and improving them, they did a complete retcon, giving us a cringe inducing brofest that tries so freaking hard to be cool that it comes out more pathetic instead...

u dont have to kill anyone in the game to win it. you can go through entire game without any kills but if u want u can kill but thats all on u as a player

Ubisoft games nowadays: 1-2 hours to finish the actual game 20+ hours of pointless sidemissions and minigames that yield little to no rewards and contribute nothing to the main story. Really Ubisoft you would think after failing this many times you would learn to cut the crap with the minigames and littering the map with pointless collectables and instead invest that time and money in the actual main quest line.

***** No, the side-quests and additional content actually means something in Bethesda games, giving actual unique gear or new perks (granted, in skyrim and fallout 4 its much less so then in the previous installments) but still better then in assassin's creed or watch_dogs, where side missions contribute little to nothing to the main overall story, the only reward is usually money (while there is nearly nothing useful to spend it on, while in Bethesda games you are usually out of money due to how much stuff there is to buy that's actually usefull) AND, in a Bethesda game, nearly all side quests are unique, try to find that in AC or WD, "collect x flags, collect x files, chase x targets, hack x targets"

KZbinVillain#127 basically. WD1 and SR1 felt like gta clones with minor differences. WD2 is a few steps in the right direction. It has a better emphasis on hacking and is legit fun in its own right, but the free roam fun fails compared to gta.
