I absolutely love this, my gosh. The way that Kaede and Kokichi bond in here?? They're so in-character that I just can't. I also liked how subtle you made it with their current status when they saw Venti float and stuff. And you made Kokichi very observant about details and Kaede appreciating Yosano for being a detective is just so, y'know?? The way that Venti was understanding and Nahida looked for information is also so nice in here. Not to mention that the way each character associates some of them with the people they know. I really wanna add more words but I've been a bit too wordy already (and I'm not good with words if it's not so obvious 😭😭). I just really, really love this.

also a little theory on why kaede and kokichi are so different than they normally are : shuichi dead in this au. would explain for kanade not being so ’happy’ as she is in canon, and that one moment when she says she respects the work of detectives (which is weird to say compared to the "i also know a detective!/have a detective friend, i like what you do!" which i would expect her to do)
