Thanks for the review. If I didn't already have the G3 GMKtec mini this device would be very tempting, I like the fanless design.

Very professional test. Thanks. So this might be also capable of 20W. Please test the units with R7 5800U

U series processors are available at Bestbuy. It's not a good chip for games.

@@WiseAcres-i4dI know these. But there are very few tests on KZbin. I know that. But I don't want to play games.. I want to stream media, edit some photos, do some office things and light 1080p video editing. My mini PC with R5 5560U can do this very well and fast at 15W. (Even AV1 at 4K) With a Ryzen 5800U/5560U this PC would be much faster than Intels N100. It has more cores, higher IPC and support Dual Channel RAM. About 2,5x faster at GPU and CPU performance at same wattage. Look the PC in the video got 2372 points at CInebench R23. My 5560U got 6070 points at 15W. About 2 1/2 x faster at same wattage. The PC in the video got maximum 72°C. So I think its cooling also could handle 20W. At this wattage my R5 5560U got about 7200 points. Also the Ryzen 5560U/5800U has much more graphics power. Because the Vega is fast and it supports dual channel RAM.

Not bad really. I would like something similar for AMD solutions or more powerful Intel ones, even if that means larger case. Good review as always.

I really want this with a R7 7840HS or HX 370. In a bigger Box at 40W would be awesome.

I wish it had DDR5. But seeing it has both rabbit ears, it's great for the price. Even Bee-Link doesn't have external antennas. Cheers! 👍

nice review! ive really taken to mini's! I have three at the moment... low end being a soyo m2 mini... the lowest end not there air model lol. its rough. a old hp elitedesk g4 mini... epic lil box. and the smallest and one iam on now is a "Dreamfyre" mini it has a n100 also and 12gb ddr5. its running Nyarch (weeb themed arch linux) at the moment and is very snappy if on single tasks or light browsing or videos like ...iam doing right now. anyway black friday thoughts? not many great deals this year...sadly.

Usually better on the day. The "lightning deals" if they do any with minis this year.

They might double their sales offering a barebones configuration with no RAM and no SSD for $139.

I just want to play Star Trek Online and Maple Story. Possibly Cup Head.

I'm looking to buy a PC again. The last one I owned, I built myself. Cost me $1200 about 2 decades ago. The only thing I remember about it was my graphics card was an ATI Radeon and the motherboard was an ASUS A8S-X It lasted 9 years. I'd probably still have it but I made a mistake and built it into an acrylic case. Moving it around fckerd the connections because it didn't have a solid spine.

How do you measure power draw? Is this always under Windows and with default bios settings? As I though 9 W idle is a lot for such a low power PC. But if it's not tuned or under Linux, then it's reasonable. I really like your tests, as they are structured and make it easy to compare the different mini PCs. I would love to see a N100 "router" test. As there are N100 fanless PC variants on Aliexpress that are in the same price range as this Neosmay, but marketed as router/firewall pc.

128gb, 8gb ram for $160 is a steal for factory which does not require much ram/hd.
@LiLBitsDKАй бұрын
plenty for a mediacenter too that use a nas/das for storage... and smaller homelab servers as well and the ram is easy/cheap to swap as well

Can you make a list of top silent Mini PCs at different processing powers?

Haven't reviewed anything above an Intel N300 this year.

@Robtech well maybe not totally fanless options but the ones with low fan noise

Casual Windows user here: I see a lot of unknown PCI devices in Device Manager. Is that something I should be concerned about?

Missing drivers. Download from the product page or use something like AVG driver installer to find them for you

out of the box? or did you reinstall windows from scratch and lost the supplied drivers?

@@stclaws9580 Out of the box. Windows runs fine, everything I need is working anyway.

As I understand, one channel would be able to utilitíze two dimm slots. But somehow they are putting only one dimm per channel. On desktop machines it is common, that dual channel systems have four dimms.
@RobtechАй бұрын
Quad channel RAM went out of fashion and required different RAM kits. Four slots are used on desktops to allow more memory to be installed.
@stclaws958025 күн бұрын
go check intel ark page for N100, and then tell us if it's worth it to manufacturer to put multiple RAM slots for CPU, that supposedly supports 16 GB max in one channel.

Does the Intel UHD graphics support hardware video transcoding, for a media server? Thanks!
@RobtechАй бұрын
Yep, as long as the media server software you're using supports QuickSync. Might need to configure it.

Can you do a review for the GMKtec K7 plus with the i7? I haven’t seen a single youtube review with this mini. Thank you! I’m a subscriber btw!

I can ask. Usually there's no choice just what they want reviewed.

Clearly a com port. 9 pins. VGA has 15 pins.
