Any particular reason? I honestly don't get the hate on Volume 4. We needed a slower Volume after the Molaram-ripping-out-our-hearts that RT pulled on us with Volume 3, and many characters got some VERY much needed character development and backstory. And to me, the animation looks much more polished and fluid outside of a few bits here and there. Sure, the fight scenes aren't as "epic" as Vols 1-3, but that's more of a story reason than an animation. They were a smaller group fighting a few things at a time. But Qrow vs Tyrian was one of the best fights of the series, in my opinion. I also loved the brief glimpses that Cinder and her lackeys are slowly realizing that they're teamed up with a pack of psychotics. And one thing I've noticed, especially looking back on the older volumes, is that Volume 4's new animation really allowed for a lot more expressiveness.

Actually, the Word of Remnant Faunus episode confirmed that faunus-to-human mating produces a faunus with the same animal trait as the faunus parent. For example, a faunus with cat ears has a baby with a human, and the baby will have cat ears. Same with two faunus that have the same animal trait. But if two faunus with different animal traits (say Blake and Sun) have a child, the animal trait is completely random. Sorry, but your theory is busted.

Man I stumbled onto something damn good here. Love the fighting style and how their semblance works, it is very much like a mix between Sun and Blake's which I like. Almost manifesting their aura into a physical motion and attack. Love the different styles of fighting first with the knifes and then that slick transformation just works so nicely. A rare instance where having a character without a gun doesn't feel overturned or underwhelming. Absolutely love seeing this and will proceed to watch all other videos here!

Even though this was two years ago and there hasn't been any videos since, the improvements are really visible and I still like all of them. Each one is just so unique in weapons term. Linen is possibly inspired by Wolverine, while his semblance is similar to Sun or Blake, but uses it in a different way to be sort of different. Silver, although no semblance shown, has that jacket that allows dust to be turned into weapons.. Which seems interesting and maybe even possible as some sort of secret project. Viridian is an interesting one, cause as far as we know, the Schnee family also uses glyhs and is said to be the only ones, I think. Added with a rifle like gun that is also a bladed bow. All in all, each trailer has shown interesting characters that I still love to this day.

I think charcoal runs an EVIL militia (like Arkham Knight) and the green guys are an enemy militia (ones with standards), he fought them for some equipment so that's where i get this theory from, and the robots are probably their version of his knights

I think, out of all of SLVR, Lycan has the most personality for me. He's so COOL! I love his attitude and the way his character shines through as he tears through the Grimm. Ragora and Vella are darn cool and all but Lycan's unique personality shines through the best for me.

A little short in my opinion and the music was eh in my opinion but the animation was a lot smoother though Charcoal is still my favorite for some reason. overall excellent work and i cant wait for the R trailer Also calling it now R stands for either rust or maybe Raven though Rosewood, Rhythm or Regalia would be nice choices to keep us on our toes

Mark, your animation abilities have improved ever since a year ago. The fighting and character acting in this short is smooth and crisp! I love how clean the motion is with Linen. I sense per pound in his actions, but there’s still so much you could do! You’d be very valuable to the RWBY crew if you became their lead animator.

As much as I like the one on one at the end, the mob fight with the Grimm could've been better. Less cutaways, better flow from one kill to the next, maybe have the ones he just kicked or punched out of the way get back up for more to plug up some of the holes in the sequence when he's walking forward, etc. All in all, pretty good, keep up the good work.
