There is nothing wrong with strong counter-programming. Tv networks have always historically had strong counter shows during major tv events, like the Super-Bowl or the Oscars. A few would just “give-up” and just have a repeat of an old episode rather than compete. Most wanted to have a strong alternative for viewers.

That was before they became a publically traded company and all of that was before the PG era, WWE now targets a different audience and they have in their contract when they sign it that they cant post nudes online or have onlyfans accounts, Zelina Vega got fired for it in 2020. They have rules on suplementary income streams especially when using your ringname since the WWE owns that character usually. Mandy’s page existed for a while but she started posting nudes and more implied sexualized content. This is the stuff that was leaked, got trending and how higher management caught on. They were also going to possibly lose Mattel for their figures, because its a toy company that makes things for children.

Tony Kahn should have never came out on TV until he knew he was ready. Vince, other than commentator, was never on camera until the dawn of Mr. McMahon. I did for a short while. I got really impressed by the high skill of many, many starts. Instantly got dragged to stars like Will Osprey (I don't know how to spell his last name), and MJF. Great talent. But I noticed in no time that while many, many of their stars are really great, others are just... No, not even the worst of WWE got me so bored and disappointed. But that's not only it, the biggest names are often put to get the numbers, things that they fail to do, and many of the uprising stars have next to no actual pushes thanks to, guys like Jericho. Add to this that most bookings are so boring, the mic work is lacking in many stars and, honestly, there are no reasons to keep watching, if you like someone, you watch his match and that's it,but following stories? No, thanks. I've watched a fair bunch of months back in 2024,and I couldn't keep with the product as a hole, and it was so obvious that big names and ex wwe stars are just overpayed. It's beyond annoying. Snd that's just the tip of the iceberg, if you go and dig what happens weekly, you'll see that fans of the promotion are... Very loyal and masochists.

Tonys problem with the Death Riders is it’s just like The Elite story. It starts as a takeover and then in a few weeks it’s like nothing at all happens, there’s zero progression in the story and it feels like they didn’t even think about where they wanted it to go. It's interesting you mention the early days of WCW and NWA when referring to WWE being the sell out. In particular when mentioning the NWA that's such a broad term as the NWA was the wrestling alliance among the Territories under that banner are we talking about Crockett Promotions, Mid South, Memphis etc? NWA was not a promotion or company at that time so specifics do matter. You also mentioned WWE being the sell out when in reality the first big sell out was Crockett to Turner and the formation of WCW. Vince brought the WWWF from his father as a mostly regional promotion, although granted a very large promotion, Vince then made this into the WWF and ruthlessly went for all the other promotions with the aim of making the WWF the promotion in America and taking them global. That doesn't make WWF the sell out promotion that makes them the promotion you wanted to buy into.

Are we seriously complaining about a 12-man tag team match for Saturday's Collision? Are you serious? Okay look, I know Chris Jericho needs to step away from the ring because well, it goes without saying, he's horrible now (he needs to transfer back to his old gimmick, at the very least). But comparing that to WWE 2019!?!?!? If we want to compare this to WWE, they did these multi-man tag matches during their good years. Often to enhance the rivalries toward the upcoming PPVs. This is common in a lot of wrestling promotions, ffs!

I was there at the AEW Collusion Event this past weekend. You failed to mentioned on how Tony Kahn did maybe up to three hours of dark matches involving local/smaller wrestling companies like Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling. Even when I had front row seats and me and my friend and his family left early because it was approaching 11pm, it was well worth the money and the arena I was in was packed. Everyone cheered Tony on because it wasn't a huge, congested city like Atlanta or New York. Yes I agree, Chris Jericho almost had a big accident especially up in the top rope, but that event shows Tony and his staff is trying. And trying to spice up AEW this new year of 2025.
