I don't understand to people booing Dana Whites decision. If he allows Conor to still fight even though Conor refused to come out and do press conferences and commercials, what kind of example will he be setting for the rest of the fighters? What would keep the other fighters from saying "if he doesn't have to promote, neither do I". Next thing you know every fighter will think they run the show and can do whatever they please. The only way to keep your fighters happy is to treat everyone fairly and the same. You can't give special handouts no matter how much you would like to. Dana White doesn't give 2 shits about fighting. If he runs a promotion for an ice cream stand and doesn't care about ice cream. He want's to earn money regardless if he treats fighters like shit, or if the fighters spend more time promoting than fighting. Obviously he just want to show who's boss. It's the same as for every good fighter who people pressured to fight in the UFC. It wasn't a factor of they wanted to fight or not, it's a factor of how these promoters treat their fighters.

Dana is working and negotiating with Conor without being in cahoots. Conor knows enough about the game to be able to play this. Chances are its still on for UFC 200. Conor is obsessed to get his redemption. He needs all of his time to train for Diaz. His plan for training is a combination of jiu jut su defensive drills and I hate to say it, "energy efficient striking" so he wont wear out fast. There is no way to cram 10 yrs of high level jiu jut su in mths so you better believe that Conor is multiplying his cardio, striking, diversive striking, and just in case he gets in trouble, the defensive drills in the ground game. He has the money to do this and his pride is on the line.

You don't take a fighter out of training to do press junkets, it's ridiculous. These guys go into the octagon fighting for their lives and it does them a disservice in a very significant way to expect them to feel confident about going into a fight when they've spent months travelling from one venue to another tell people to come watch the fight that they haven't been able to train for. This is all about Dana White's ego and money. Connor is doing the right thing by not breaking his training, he has to stay focused. I'd like to see Dana go into a fight feeling he hasn't done all that he could to make a win possible.

Well, the truth is the FANS run the UFC because without us there would be no UFC. The fans want Connor-Diaz as the headliner and not some junkie versus commentator. ***** Good points, but take this into consideration: that 171 he had to move up to in his fight with Diaz made him completely out of shape; he sat around and couldn't do his normal training (which includes a lot of cardio) because he didn't have enough time to put on the weight and keep it there. This time his camp said he blew up to 185 so he could train hard (with cardio) and bring it back down to 171. He was completely gassed after two minutes of the second round. Look at their faces in the press conference. Connor looked normal and Diaz appeared to have caught his face in a meet grinder. Don't think Diaz would be able to take him down so easy in a rematch. Just something to think about.
