Fun Fact: The reason Kishimoto changed Sasuke’s outfit after the second round of the Chunin Exams is because the belts on his outfit took too long to draw. Considering the father of the Golden Age of Shonen Toriyama created super sayin as a shortcut so he wouldn’t have to do as much shading when drawing characters this checks out. Work smarter not harder. Now that I’m thinking about it Kishimoto once said Sasuke was the hardest character to draw, and for that reason he was his favorite to draw why not just keep the outfit

I guess I can see how that be hard to consistently draw. But it’s strange because I feel Sasuke’s later outfits in the series always looked hard to draw. So honestly why didn’t Kishimoto ever thought, “hey maybe I should give this character a less complicated choice of clothes”?

We would see this emphasized much later in shippuden where important characters are drawn is such simple textureless features. Madara if he did not have the cracks on his face would follow this same issue but didn't

@@sleepylmguy9968 Not exactly. If you noticed, the only thing that changes in Sasuke's outfits in Shippuden are his shirts. Kishi recycled the bottom half of his original hebi outfit for the remainder of the series.

No new characters yet, but several new stages and most characters get moveset updates and balance tweaks. Some even get new supers. They recently figured out how to give everyone Z/X alts. So most characters have 3-4 outfits instead of just 2.
