Did you notice that when The Master said "very close to my heart," he had his left hand over the right side of his chest (since Timelords have 2 hearts)? Also, I really hope that with The Doctor now being female and The Master being male again that their relationship is as strong and unique as Capaldi and Gomez's (my favorite Doctor and Master btw) was since I feel that they can still explore more with their characters in this dynamic.

You've got to love the fact that they got the actor who played the very first director of Doctor Who, Wallis Hussein, from AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE & TIME, to take over the role of The Master. Plus his line, 'we go way, way back' was the same line Matt Smith's Doctor used when describing the Ice Warriors in COLD WAR.

I remember hearing comedy actor James Dreyfuss was in talks for role and met him during a shoot on a short film called Sequins. I think they made the right choice though.

I couldnt help it! It just popped in there! Thought id make the scene a bit more subtle (i was gonna use palpatine's theme at one point but thought Vader more on the nose!). Thanks for noticing

There is an audio story called "The Lumiat" (it is canon to the TV show) that before Missy died for good, she used a device called the Elysium field to create a new Master incarnation with her consciousnesses intact but, there was a side effect which made new body (The Lumiat) have all the goodness and show disgust of her past incarnations. She hunted down a younger Missy and fowled some of her schemes. At one point younger Missy finally grew tired of The Lumiat, killed her to the verge of regeneration and left her on planet to regenerate. Missy hoped her next incarnation would not share the goodness of The Lumiat, hence "O". This story was written before Spyfall in Moffet's era.

It could be why The Spy Master is so deranged. They had a regeneration of all they good, and it immediately kicked into reverse of him having all the bad.
