Till Andor came out, THIS was the peak of the Star Wars shows, THIS episode. The pain, anger, hatred and sadness that flashed across Burr's face as Migs Meyfeld was more character development than Finn got in three feature length films. I literally had goosebumps, and I admit I shed tears, and then sat in stunned silence when he blasts the imperial officer. We NEED more Star Wars like this and Andor!

Pretty funny considering he used to always make fun of Star Wars and the fans lol.
@Hajile_Ibushi2 жыл бұрын
@@rc59191 Still sort of did. He just acted it out. The detail about sweaty armor sounds like something a comedian would roast about except he actually had to do it. Likewise for the dialog during the drive where he pointed out the plothole about the helmet. He was just written in a way that he didn't look out of place. That's a writing masterclass.
@Yorushima Жыл бұрын
Late Response but... It was mentioned that Mayfeld as a character was specifically made in Bill Burr's likeness so personality-wise, it was pretty easy for him to fit in because he's pretty much just being himself but in Star Wars (and to be fair, his personality fits in oddly better than some...others...) The scene that stood out with him and the officer in the cafeteria was, incidentally, something that he doesn't have direct experience with (War-related PTSD) but in a podcast he claims he picked the most relevant experience he had to it, which was powerlessness and despair from being abused by a superior. It's relatable enough, given that the emotions are mostly the same when you strip away the surface context. So to simplify, it's probably more that he's a decent actor in a role that was made with him in mind. If it weren't for that, things could have gone differently.

The entire plot of this episode is an homage to a movie called "Sorcerer" which came out in 1977... the same year as Star Wars: A New Hope. In Sorcerer, the Rhydonium is instead TNT. The set up goes, these soldiers have to deliver this shipment of TNT deep in the jungle, and the heat is so much that the TNT starts to literally sweat nitro-glycerin. It's brilliant that Star Wars would pay such homage to a more auteur type of film whose box office failure was initially attributed to the blockbuster effect caused by A New Hope.

I got chills from this. There’s so many perspectives and yet it still relates to this. The PTSD, emotional distress, etc. I can imagine myself in his position. While the Clone Wars ended, the Republic was reformed into the Empire. Therefore, the education system is entirely different as well. Making their truths their own version in which Palaptine had created it. The volunteers to serve as peacekeepers (stormtroopers). Palpatine truly is pure evil even to those who support & are loyal to his cause. If I were that soldier, I could feel all that pain. Serving your country & the men responsible for annihilating your home, families, friends, etc. All those whom you fought to protect from insurgents, terrorists, rebels, etc. just to see that happened by your team. That backstab was deep enough to make others believe it’s not the Empire they fought for and will not be part of the new one as they rise to power again. Sadly, others remained fanatics still thinking it’s right & no remorse to innocent blood they spilled on their own people.

Round 7:40, the fans here are crack- ing on Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) for being a comedian because of his austere demeanour. I met Jeremy Bul- loch, who played him in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980, 20th Century Fox, Irvin Kershner, John Wil- liams) and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983, 20th Century Fox, Richard Marquand, John Williams). He really was a comedian in Great Britain! He kept grinning and laughing like a bewildered goof. Incidentally, Temuera Morrison also played Bilbo's father, Jango in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2005, 20th Century Fox, George Lucas, John Williams) and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005, 20th Century Fox, George Lucas John Williams).
