They've spend a hundred million dollars and then she's - on her own authority - burned everyone. An actor having an opinion risks being divisive. They're the face of a production. However, at least make an effort to stress that you're talking for yourself. If you tell people not to support your production because their dollars are tainted by hands that voted for trump, you're making yourself a liability. Similarly, I think she interrelated her film and Palestine with some earlier tweets. Lets open the door to shades of grey. If Tom Cruise was doing promos for a mission impossible film and separately was advocating for Scientology, then ok. It might not help his production, but whatever. Your employer doesn't own you. If he did a promo using the mission impossible music or dressed as his character, then maybe that's going to risk greater blowback. If Tom Cruise doesn't get to do whatever the hell he wants, then Zegler probably needs to calm down. Tom Cruise has earned studios billions of dollars. Zegler's films are probably in the red (or at best, narrowly in the black).

Personally, I think the remakes COULD work, if they were telling the original stories that the classics were based off of, and sticking to the more grimmer elements. Like show us Snow White's 3 attempted deaths (first the corset, them the poisoned comb, and finally, the poisoned apple), show us the little mermaid turning to sea foam, show us Cinderella going to the tree over her mother's grave for her dress and slippers, show us Pinocchio getting hung. And that's just going over the classic Disney films. There's COUNTLESS Fairytales that Disney could adapt into animated features like: The Myrtle Tree, Puss in Boots, Toads and Diamonds, The Ballad of Tam Lin, The Robber Bridegroom, The Goblin Market, and Feathertop. To name a few. Personally, I think these adaptations/remakes would work better in 2D animation, but that's a personal take. But with these ingredients for potential, you still need passion, imagination, and dedication. You need to actually care about what you're creating. Given The Wish that could've been, it's clear that Disney now lacks that passion and imagination. This is why I'm collecting the old animated movies, cause those were my childhood and what I grew up on.

If you're going to make kids' movies, it would behoove you to appeal to people who have kids rather than people who have sworn off of procreating.
