FansToys Sovereign - Masterpiece Galvatron Preview

Sovereign looks amazing, I'm not sure how Takara could improve over this. He looks spot on, very accurate, all sort of articulations. A must buy for me.

What do you mean he and Optimus weren't really rivals? See episodes "Return of Optimus Prime!" Anyway, this looks great, but I think DX9's Tyrant has the better alt mode. It looks like Tyrant is taller & skinnier in bot mode. I will definitely get one. I wouldn't mind having both MP style Galvatrons.

cadsux That was one of the only times. They didn't even really fight in that episode. It was mainly Rodimus that he rivalled.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry DX9 Galvatron had to go! But helped the cause to hook up with Fans Toys Galvatron very nice. I liked DX9 don't get me wrong but something was of like the feet for 1 ...........wasn't a fan of the eyes and the oversized Matrix PASS! This is the G1 Galvatron I have been looking for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From EmGo's review of DX9's Tyrant, it looks like Tyrant is taller than FansToys Sovereign. Tyrant's crown reaches MP Ultra Magnus' forehead, while Sovereign's crown reaches Ultra Magnus' neck.

Steven --- I contacted FansToys a few months ago, and they said "no plans at this point, maybe next year." But ChosenPrime just got new stock today.. I ordered mine superfast, didnt want to miss out this time!

I'm in complete agreement with you, Joshua. Sovereign has some nice things about him, but his backpack looks awful and his transformation is needlessly fiddly and overly complex. DX9's might be a bit ugly (transformation) but it gets the same thing done with quite a bit of simplicity compared to this. Plus the backpack looks a heck of a lot better. To each their own, if someone enjoys Sovereign, that's great, but for me... DX9 won this battle.

Angel Torres x-transbots is making one called 'abaddon' which should be the best but it probably won't be out for a while.

This is one MESSY transformation. Doesn't look fun at all and the cannon looks more odd than it should.

I hate this toy. It has issues that fill a list at least 10 points long. For one thing, the arms don't even support the weight of the alt mode well, if you wiggle it a bit it will loose a ratchet point or collapse. Manipulating the shoulders in bot mode untransforms the the whole side/shoulders. The amount of force required to peg the shoulders into alt mode requires great enough force and not very good leverage such that breakage of the shoulder ratchets or other places on the toy is very likely. The transform on mine is arguably worse than Wardog. If you are on the fence wait and see what X-transbots does, although typically their stuff is annoying as well, except Cyclonus was decent, way better than this piece of crap. When is FT gonna stop with the toys you need a screwdriver to pry things apart? If you have any interest in transforming this guy more than once PASS on him. Maybe he is good for shelf-only collectors, which I am not.

you have to remember, this was only a test shot in this review, some of the tolerances and tightness on some joints weren't made to be exactly perfected yet, it was basically a prototype for the the final version, and while having to use a tool sometimes isn't exactly preferred, it does help make it look more accurate
