I have had the album playing on repeat while I am writing my Wisconsin Legal History paper. I don't know how many times it has played, but I have been working on it to the album for about 20 hours total (not consecutive). Its perfect. It vibes with my ADHD and isnt too distracting, but also lets me get out my fidgets by dancing around to it. I love every song on the album. I typically have at least one or two songs I skip on albums, but this one I just love it all.

5:05 This kinda validates a theory I've had where the second track on an album is where you really focus on its theme and sound. The first track lets listeners in, and maybe "prepares" them if the music's harsh, and then the second track is a thesis on its sound. Some quick examples: The Money Store's first track is the only one where Ride isn't shouting, and the second track's where things get disgusting (Lost Boys is still the most unsettling beat I've heard, sounds like an auditory waterboarding). Caligula's first track is borderline ambient, and the second track's where Lingua Ignota starts the screaming. Igor's opening's always felt like the music that's on before a play begins, and the second track's where Tyler takes center stage. It's not a strict rule of course (In Utero and MCR's Three Cheers come to mind), but a lot of albums I've listened to have an intentionally mellow opening track, and then a more thematic second. ...Or I'm just dumb, but at least I know I'm dumb with Fantano!

My take with Kendrick albums is one for the audience, next one for himself (except O.D. and Untitled/Unmastered) S.80, TPAB, MMATBS - for himself GKMC, DAMN, GNX - for the fans the albums for the audience get the sales and do not miss a single beat.
