I still love Annie Hall because nothing about Woody Allen's problematic actions are present in it. When we "separate the art from the artist", what we really mean is that the things we dislike about the artist are never present in the art in the first place. I don't "separate the art from the artist" with (for example) MSI's "Tight" because it's apparent at this point that he's singing about being a pedophile. Adjacent to that, Kanye has enormous reach and cultural influence; it's ignorant of anyone to pretend that continuing to support him and give him attention does not, as a result of his actions outside of his music, result in material harm to real people. Giving the dude any attention at all increases the likelihood of anti-semitic hate crimes. The integrity of artistic criticism is not more important than the lives of those victims.

i tend to type too much and people will think this is total d riding but i think there’s almost a 50/50 possibility Ye is doing performance art. Reference points being 2015 interview with Clique on KZbin 2018 interview with Jimmy Kimmel on KZbin 2021 interviews with a performance artist named Tino Seghal for a magazine which you could google. This combined with the fact that after Kanye was hospitalized in 2016 he was gone for the entire year in 2017 and returned to twitter in 2018 and was tweeting a lot about performance art and also said things like people should forgive whoever did them the most harm in their lives. He was planning to release an album called Love Everyone , which also was titled Hitler at one point. On the album cover he wanted to put a picture of the Doctor who was said to be responsible for his moms death and the content of the album was said to be material so offensive that it would get Kanye cancelled.. But Kanye scrapped that album and instead made the album Ye(I hate being bipolar it’s awesome) Most beautiful thoughts are always beside the darkest.. Ye explains that was his intent for the title in an interview with Big Boi in 2018 pre Ye album listening party. If a person reads/watches those interviews and knows what Kanye was saying on twitter in 2018 , they may not believe the performance art theory but they should at least understand why that is a possibility and we’re not dealing with someone too dumb to be doing that.. His association with people society considers “the bad guy” is very apparent, Trump, Hitler, Marilyn Manson, Chris Brown , Cancelled people, gangster rappers ,his interest in freeing Larry Hoover and prison reform. I wish I was internet savvy so I could post all the receipts so people wouldn’t think I’m talking out my bunz but there are a lot of breadcrumbs even besides what i mentioned. One of Kanye’s favorite movies is The Holy Mountain( the director said Kanye tried to meet him) and if you’ve watched that movie and know what it’s about , it also supports my theory . Kanye's insane bigoted politics don't affect society significantly. People don't really stop listening to artists because of their politics, especially if it doesn't show up in most of the discography. As a Kanye fan, this is EXACTLY how he wants y’all to react. If you hate him and his fans so much, just don’t give them attention, that’s it. Obviously I disagree with a ton of things he says, and for me, I can separate the art from the artist easier than others can, and I’m fine that others can’t. This isn’t a good point simply because there is a multitude of artists music that we filter out major concepts and lyrics from. The glorification of murder and drugs?
