Drake's behavior during the past 7-ish months has made his defeat sooooo much worse for him, because he's showing the world just how much he deserved to be dissed into oblivion. All these months later and he's still acting like a toddler throwing a tantrum in the middle of a department store.

@@btarczy5067 I think it's because making music that is "typically" sad or serious is very demonstrative and gives people an easy signal that they're meant to be feeling sad or serious, but the subtlety of comedy can be lost because a lot of people don't typically engage with comedy that is used as a filter for talking about serious stuff or they aren't used to reading between the lines in a musical context. Also yes, comedy that is purely for the sake of fun IS emotionally valid in itself. I reckon because comedy in its nature subverts seriousness, some people forget how seriously important having a sense of humour is.

To be honest, I think Drake did more damage to his own image than Kendrick did. I mean Kendrick won the battle and pretty much did to Drake what Drake did to Meek by making a diss record that was also a hit and could be played in the club, car, cookout, etc. but how Drake handled it was terrible. The comments on Derozan during that Raptors game, the 100 gigs looking super desperate, yachty, 40 and other Drake associates coming out to vouch that "no, Drake is totally the best he's ever been. He's completely unfazed and actually enjoyed how it happened", the lawsuit against his own label. I mean if Drake would have just gone away, worked on an album, and came back to release it and let the music speak for itself and just not even acknowledge the beef or acknowledge it in a way where he doesn't come off like a 15 year old, he would have been in a way better position and the general public wouldn't even be thinking about it anymore much as Meek is now back and no one is really ever thinking about the Drake/Meek beef.

When the beef started I was shocked to hear that he was considered part of the big 3 by many. I've always thought he was excruciatingly mid, with a few solid songs and features. How anyone thought he stood a chance at all is beyond me. The most fun I had was when Kendrick was taking a long time to respond. I loved seeing Drake stans get all gassed up, because it was pretty obvious to anyone tuned in that a bloodbath was likely to come from Kendrick. He gave them everything they asked for. Remember, Drake told kendrick to talk about how he liked little girls in Taylor Made. "Drop drop drop" too. They asked for this and they got it.

Drake got his acting rapper persona confused with who he actually is and Kendrick gave him the vibes check he deserved The best part about how this beef ended is that he didn't even need to respond Drake buried himself by thinking he could make a diss without his ghostwriters and ever since then he's just sabotaged himself with his over inflated ego and weird behaviour while Kendrick just plays the bangers he already made and drops an album to critical acclaim and also that is really successful it's so overkill and I love it
