Too much skin, too much makeup, too much booty, etc. What messages are we sending our black young ladies? That their only value is based on their sexuality? From the time the ancestors were kidnapped and brought here, black women have been sexualized from the time they reached puberty and beyond; And now we are doing it to ourselves when we allow and encourage our daughters and granddaughters to look like whores. Glad to hear that you & your daughter do. Because my daughter & I don't have this kinda relationship. She pulled away from me in her 20's and started being disrespectful towards me , that makes not want to be around her much (she's 43 y.o. now). Especially when she wants to argue & dispute my word. I get up and leave to stay in God's will. I tried to be a good Mom to her and my 3 Sons. Never been on drugs/alcohol, never sold my body. But I kept us in church services and Bible Study. I worked 2 jobs to make sure my children had more than I had growing up.
