I played in a recorder group in school, but we only had soprano, alto and tenor recorders. I didn't actually know about the bass. Are they playing contrabass as well? They appeared to be playing four different sized ones and I thought the smallest one looked like a tenor. I will have to look it up! 😊

Thank you for this great music from the English Renaissance. This deep flute music brings so much peace to the Christmas season. For me, this kind of flute music is the sound of nature in wintertime. William Byrd's Fanastia 1 A6 would also fit the bill!

Die Orgel hat ja auch Pfeifen, welche ganz ähnlich gebaut sind wie Blockflöten, nur ohne Griffloecher. Ich denke hier Besonders an die tiefen Holzpfeifen, die eine Orgel im Bass hat. Also ist es kein Wunder, dass Blockflöten so ähnlich wie Orgeln klingen.
