My son's first visit to Disneyland at age 3 coincided with the introduction of Fantasmic! We watched what was only the 3rd night of it's performance. The dragon definitely evolved and became more detailed as the years passed. Glad to revisit that 1st experience!

ahhh. We were at opening night. Sat and waited front and center for 6 hours with many other APs. Kids colored, played games, we got food for each other and held space while some went on rides. It was a wonderful time. Thank you for posting.

Amanda Grigsby why did they take her away? I heard is you met her at Disneyland in front when you get in the gate she sits in a chair because they don’t want you to see the lady under the costumes leg. But now you can’t meet her anymore.

+Sushi Mutt This is at Disneyland's Fantasmic (1992- Early 2016, returning on July 2017 with newer updates and floats) the dragon was the same as WDW's Fantasmic (1997-Present) from 1992 until early 2009. it got replaced by the new fully animatronic Dragon which was unveil on September 1, 2009 at Disneyland. WDW still uses the old Dragon head on stick and with curtains around.

Dendo Chinchira The old Dragon in Disneyland's Fantasmic? It was being kept since it retired but only it's head only. Last year, the head of the old Dragon was presented at D23 expo exhibit.

It’s almost 30 years old. The audio tracking got messed up from the VHS it was on. (Also long comment ahead) I’m assuming you’re pretty young and technically so am I, so I can try to explain camcorder/vhs/cd and digital transfer from my uneducated perspective 😂 This was most definitely taken on some kind of JVC camera, as those were the most popular cameras then. They then get taken to walmart, best buy, etc. to get transfered the VHS tapes (although some people did them themselves). VHS tapes are SUPER fragile. It’s not like a DVD where you can rewind it a thousand times and expect it to stay in mint condition. This tape was probably rewinded quite a bit, causing it to wear and tear a bit. That or the VHS transfer probably just wasn’t good on digital. Almost like how older youtube videos fit a weird way on the screen due to their usually low standard definition compared to 1920/1080p which is now the digital standard.
