Fantasmic! - Disneyland 1997

Hi8 video footage of Fantasmic! at Disneyland from 1997. I really love this version of Fantasmic, my daughter and I would go every weekend to watch this show.
Fantasmic! originated at Disneyland in 1992 after Walt Disney Creative Entertainment was asked to create a nighttime spectacular involving water and fireworks to reinvigorate the space in front of the Rivers of America. The area was reworked, including terracing the walkways to accommodate viewing and modifying part of Tom Sawyer Island to allow the show's staged live action segments. The producers employed the resources of Walt Disney Feature Animation and Walt Disney Imagineering.(wikipedia)

@@PlasmaStar87 Replacing the "Tahitian Terrace" in 1993, Aladdin's Oasis served Americanized Middle Eastern cuisine and featured a dinner show loosely retelling the story of the film (Aladdin). However, the dinner show only lasted a few years and the restaurant switched to a seasonal operating schedule before ending almost entirely in favor of using the Oasis as a character greeting space. Aladdin's Oasis was located between the Enchanted Tiki Room and The Jungle Cruise.

The folks at Disney are not animators and magicians anymore. They no longer know how to use smoke, mirrors and light and darkness. They think they have to build it (somehow) for what it is. as a business expense. Hence... Fantasmic will be without a dragon for many years, and nobody there cares even a little bit.
