I don’t think the filmmakers are trying hard enough if they have to invent a whole new creature instead of drawing from the already well established and re-established Fantastic Beasts textbook. Seeing a “never-existed” creature isn’t exciting; seeing a well known creature (manticore) finally brought to the screen is worth the hype.
