What a brilliant day I had while metal detecting, a great range of very old finds in this week's video. I was out searching on some more undetected land here in North Yorkshire.
Please do join me as I unearth some interesting historic finds and artifacts!
I'm using a Minelab Equinox 800 & a Garrett Pinpointer.
Settings used :- Field 1, Iron Bias 0, Multi-frequency, Recovery Speed 5. 15" Minelab coil.

What a mixed bag of finds. Yes, that strap end is top drawer! And the broken Roman actually has the best face on it. The pottery with the hole in it, could it possibly be for a hanging lamp? What a great hunt. As the farmer tills up more things from the bottom, it may turn out to be the best fields.

Blimey that was brilliant Andy. Get back to that farm soon!! I love History, always have been fascinated by it since school days. My favourite period stretches from pre-Roman through to the Tudors. I say to my kids, if i ever disappear look for me in the 14th Century!! I now live near a Roman town, thats survived down rhe ages. Some poor bloke decided to decorate his mums front room n found a huge 16th century mural painted on the wall! (In troupe the Archaeologists.....😂) no decorating for months!! Keep at it Andy, love your videos. Love to you n the family x Chez

Hi Andy, great day out there, well done on the Roman coins and that tiny little hammered farthing, but what an absolute stunner that strap end is, brilliant find there. Your token has the look of a Parys Mines Druid Token from the 18th century. The curly inscription on the reverse is, I think, the letters PMC for Parys Mine Company. Thanks Penny. When I first unearthed the strap end, I sent a photo to my friend who has more detecting experience than me. He also saw the Owl straight away and thought that it might have even been Roman. Other than it being a strap end, I was fairly clueless, other than thinking that it had some serious age to it. :)

Well you certainly had that 'Fantastic Day' Andy! Amazing strap end, gotta be buzzing with that. A good brace of Roman (and pottery), a gem of a farm to get back to asap.
