Fantastic Finds At Half Price Books! | A More Sustainable Way To Shop For Decks And Books.

In this video, I share with you the fantastic finds I purchased while visiting the various Half Price Book locations in my area.
Checking buy/sell/trade groups and shopping your local used book stores and charity shops for decks, books, and other items on your wishlist is a more sustainable and mindful way to obtain these items. It’s putting less stress on Mother Earth by purchasing or obtaining things that are already in circulation.

I went to one close to me and they didn't even have a tarot section 😔 Didn't find anything good there.

You know, it’s usually a case of feast or famine. I often have long stretches when I don’t find anything. At other times, someone has decided to thin out their collection and I have to make choices 😉

Wow, great finds! Especially the urban tarot. We don't have a half price book store here in Europe, but we have other book reselling stores, in which I haven't found tarot decks so far. I also love to color in postcards from Johanna basford. It calms me and it's real fun to do and afterwards I have some nice cards to gift and to send 😀

Do you have a major used books retailer in Europe? Yes, the postcards are a great find. I may try using watercolor on one instead of my usual pencils 😉

@@oldsoulmermaid1543 oh yes, watercolors work well on the thicker postcards. But what I love to use most at these postcards are water soluble color pencils. In the city where I live there are only small independent reselling book stores. But I sometimes use the used books buying options on Amazon or of another online book reseller here in Germany. For English and American decks, I often use book depository.

If you get a deck that smells like smoke, you can put it in a container of plain, unscented, non-clumping, clay cat litter and that will pull the smoke smell out. You can also mix in dry coffee grounds and/or baking soda to help absorb the odors. Just so you know in case you get a really good find and you don't want to return it. I'm super sensitive to smoke smells too... 🤢
