As someone who used to buy and sell antiques and collectibles, the offer on the rings was very poorly done. She kept running the rings down by saying...they'll have to be resized etc, trying to scare the seller into selling. That dealer really wanted to rings and you don't run another woman's rings down by calling the diamonds...little ones.

Another £20 - 30 and she's have probably sealed a deal and, selling as separate items, would have made at least £600 in the retail environment

I completely agree. I have never seen a full set of both the black and white Wedgwood chess pieces. He would have gotten a lot more money for them.

Depends if the ball is just glass or lead crystal. The weight should give it away. The age/box is great. Will need cleansing & charging.

Have to agree. a thousand US $ seems a good, if not very strong, price for them, but certainly 500 UK £ or so is a fair price for them.
