You literally can’t go wrong with Tiffany!!! If you like audiobooks, listen to The Weight of Blood. It is done SO well! Thanks for the compliment!! I still can’t believe there are actually people out there that will listen to me talk about books for almost an hour 😂 It means a lot!!

I just bought Let Me Hear A Rhyme last month and I can't wait to read it. I listened to the weight of blood and the different characters voices was really good. And it's read like a podcast so it keeps you interested. The twist and turns in that book will keep the book in your hands for sure!

i LOVE the synopses and variety of genres for this topic. ive come across several videos celebrating women authors, only to find that a great majority of them were white and only romantic (nothing wrong w that genre, but women cannot be typecasted)

i felt the exact same way which is why i felt drawn to make this video. it makes me so happy that others are enjoying the variety of genres and types of authors that i tend to read :) thank you!!

Fantastic list! I've read quite a few of the authors you've mentioned. Long rambling comment incoming as I sort of just type my thoughts as I watch. :) RF Kuang, so diverse in genre and does each one beautifully. Loved The Wayward Children Series by Seanan McGuire. I haven't read a ton of St. John Mandel, but what I've read so far was good. I absolutely adore Jemisin. One of my favorite fantasy/sci-fi authors of all time. I definitely recommend The City We Became series. Way different from The Broken Earth trilogy, but also so damn good! I've been working my way through Butler's writing and enjoying it so far. I just got an audio-copy of Kindred, so I may be diving into that in the next week or two. Not sure if you've ever read Nnedi Okorafor, but if you enjoy Afro-futuristic Sci-Fi, she's got some cool standalone and series. I had never heard of Amber Tamblyn, but I'm adding her to the TBR. I love a good thriller. Minato is also new to me, but I love translated fiction, so also adding to the list. Yes! Jessica Knoll is fantastic. I loved Bright Young Women too! I adore Mona Award too! Bunny was like an acid trip. Rouge was good, but didn't feel quite as fresh to me since I read it close to Bunny. I just read The Reformatory last week and it was so brutal, but definitely a well done and effective horror. I'm also looking through Due's backlist for more to read. For Black Women horror authors, I like Alexis Henderson, Helen Oyeyemi, Justina Ireland, TloTlo Tsamasse (debut -horror/sci-fi/dystopian), and Latanya McQueen. Homegoing is on my TBR this month! Adding The Secret Lives of Church Ladies to the TBR! Love a good short story collection. :) I have a copy of My Dark Vanessa but have been hanging on to it until I'm in the right place for it as I know it'll be a difficult read. Roxanne Gay 💙 I just bought a copy of In The Dream House a couple of months ago and I'm super interested in Her Body and Other Parties! Ahh I just heard about Smoke Gets In Your Eyes from another channel called SavageReads. She did a lovely review of it. Definitely adding So You Want To Talk About Race to the TBR. OMG I especially need the book on mediocre white men. I don't read a ton of YA, so I haven't read many of the books you mention, although I am familiar with all of the authors. I have The Hate U Give and have been meaning to read it for a bit. I have read Tahir's Ember in The Ashes series which I found enjoyable. I won't say that it was the most profound series that I've ever read, but it is immersive and the plot was solid. I'm really enjoying your channel so far and I hope you are prepared for your channel to blow up very quickly. I think the quality of your videos, the types of books you read, your thoughtful and sharp critiques of your reading, and your lovely personality will have a lot of people subscribing very quickly. :) Count me as a new subscriber! Looking forward to more soon!

I have the Binti Triology bind-up book but I have not picked it up yet. I will push it up when I want to read a sci-fi book! THANK YOU for the black women horror author list!!! I don't know most of them but will look them up tonight :) Also, thank you for your insightful comments. I am interested how you feel about some of the books you have added to your TBR from this list. Especially if you pick up The Secret Lives Of Church Ladies & Bright Young Women. It seems like we have very similar tastes. It warms my heart that others are enjoying my channel. Obviously, I would love to see my channel blow up but at the end of the day it's really just a hobby for me & I am happy that I finally gained the confidence to just put my videos out. Comments like these mean the world to me!

Neber heard of aome of these authors so i got to writing lol. Question, do you prefer the physical book or audio or do you go back and forth between the two!?
@scottieshereereads4 ай бұрын
I prefer physical books, for sure! However, I do really enjoy memoirs and some thrillers via audiobook. I also tandem read at times. Where I read the physical book and listen to the audiobook at the same time.
