Though I haven't spoken to him since this interview way back when, Mr. Shatner lives down the street from me. I pass him now and then when hiking the neighborhood.

Since he was my first crush, I of course am envious that you so cavalierly describe living down the street from him.

Mr. Shatner's place in the collective memory of fantasy fans (and the run-of-the-mill public) is, of course, rather firmly cemented with his legendary participation in "Star Trek: TOS", and the subsequent feature films. However, strictly as an actor, he has a wealth of other highlights to his credit throughout the years. For example, I've always thought he was quite memorable and brilliant in the early 1970s PBS production of "The Andersonville Trial", directed by George C. Scott, and featuring a supporting cast of seasoned actors that really knocked your socks off... Anyway, such a wonderful interview. Thanks for resurrecting it from the tape vault.
