Aw I would have been disconnected too when the book didn’t show the relationship growing and just skipped months. I felt the same way when reading The Daughter of the Moon Goddess, I liked the beginning but not the time jumps

Yes, I read Daughter of the Moon Goddess too and felt the same way about the time jumps; it definitely made it hard for me to connect to the characters in the beginning. Though I found after the big two year time skip, about 100 pages in, the pacing got a lot better and by the end of the book I felt a connection to the characters and ended up really enjoying the book. ☺️
