The music of the 1960s-70s was rooted in a revolutionary (and psychedelic!) counterculture... When corporate control was cemented over that music (described beautifully, and cryptically on Hotel Cali by the Eagles), that countercultural influence was rather systematically obliterated. Thank the gods we still have that era to look back to!

Rogue (absolutely love the name) this is a blast from the past, for sure! 60s, 70s and then the 80s were an exceptional period for the musical tapestry. Probably the fullest, richest era for musicians, singer/songwriters and performers. Steppenwolf was among those leading us into the Golden Age of music. Of course there are the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin and others... the list becomes very long, but you get the drift. This music hit me in the 'sweet spot', being born in 1960, and it stirs the nostalgia stew. I was the first son of a Rock and Roll musician in a 'country' town. I've heard it all but my taste runs to rock and metal, even to this day. And I've been to dozens of concerts ranging from Floyd to Elton John to Metallica to Styx to Rascal Flatts. My tastes are still evolving and I'm discovering some bands from Europe in the Symphonic Metal genre. And what a fantastic rabbit hole that has become. That genre is mind-blowing and since it began flowering in the 90s it's provided some of the biggest, and most pleasant surprises. Bands like Nightwish, Dream Theater, Evergrey, Epica, Kamelot, Avantasia, AYREON, Delain, Spiritbox, Toehider, and so many more. Specifically, the Dream Theater portal is probably the richest of the entry points... One of my favorites, and I highly recommend... Dream Theater - Pull Me Under kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5rTlGCArdebiM0 I think you'll love it and hope you make time for it soon. ps... I think you're gorgeous, have great taste and love your reactions!

The organ sound - my Girl - is a special sound. It is produced by one or more rotating speaker boxes (inside the Organ - see that Organ in the videoclip "A Whiter Shade Of Pale - Gary Brooker/Prokol Harum in Denmark 2006) - the organ was named after its inventor/builder and is called "Hammond" organ. The instrument in its time (50s to 70s) was THE ORGAN. After or during that came the keyboards and synthesizers with their samples. Today, every cheap keyboard for home use has a Hammond sample implemented. But many bands come back to it, a revival of the Hammond sound is not far away.
