@user-do7yz6sf8j I think this still sounds fresh because they echoed music from an unforgettable bygone era, yet also introduced something new. They weren't concerned about sounding like fags either; much like Bowie, Morrisey, and Bret Anderson, and that must take courage and self belief. I only wish they'd been able to continue with the original members:( The singer's solo stuff hasn't yet grabbed me in the same way. Maybe it's a little too faggy for my tastes. which was always a line they were close to crossing, in my humble opinion.

I've been in and out of hospital, at some points under the mental health act. Last week I was admitted by my psychologist: I had no life left in me, my heart still beat but surviving isn't living and I was simply surviving at that point. I'm so glad, I remembered about this song from a short film I adore, I'm Here (dir. Spike Jonze). it helped me no longer survive. But live.

There's something so foreboding in the sweatshirt that Chris is wearing. I am writing this in 2022, almost the end of the year now, so much has been shit. . .yet so much more has been BEAUTIFUL. All the bad has been triumphed with beauty. It's like the song is reaching through time and into the future with that ancient sage advice of LOVE! Simple, poignant, and heart wrenching in such a lovely way. Dance and laugh the years away. Love 22 and beyond! Thank you Girls.

I looked in the mirror today. Damn I’m old lol. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. As I age there’s this graceful aura about it that I can’t put my finger on. It’s like I’m grateful for having the chance to witness the growth, failures, opportunities, pain, loss, of those I love near and dear. But also of myself. I want everyone to know that you are an infinite project unto yourself. There is no road you cannot take, no obstacle you cannot face. You are endowed with the bravery and courage of being human. And this strength alone can lead to things you have never thought of. But has been inside you nonetheless. The movement of time and the universe is within us and is not separate from us. We are the universe. We are it. So do not shy away from doing what you love. Do the things that make you uncomfortable and that challenge you. You can do it. I believe in you. And I’ll always be with you.

Well, clearly people just moved on and didn't do a single thing whatsoever, and now we don't have one of the greatest producers of my life. People find it easy to let go and move on, and I get it when it's just regular old depressives or relapsing old friends - but when it's someone that was able to produce this shit so proper you just let the world down and are merely letting yourself move on and not recognize how unethical it is to let people you love just not be here anymore. I've been sober for over a decade but I'm an anomaly, and everyone that loved him should've been trained in administering narcan - simple as fuck.

The humbleness of the music vis-à-vis with the sincerity of the lyrics makes this song and in reality, the whole Girl's Album one of my top5 picks of the year, and it's slowly showing how american bands are getting back to their quality, which has long time been on a hiatus.
