Fanter Fishing

6 жыл бұрын

A difficult 3 winter days on the Norfolk broads out of Wroxham and horning, ups and downs were had from 3 new PB's in the form of perch and pike, broken down boats and lost fish. Dropshotting for perch seemed to be the most productive and lure fishing for the pike.

I’d love to come to England and Pike fish, it seems like they are everywhere there! Where I live there is plenty of Bass, large and small mouth, Catfish, pan fish and Carp. Pike are a bit harder to come by!

DrFrankensteam hello bud, thanks for watching, yeah of you flew to the UK you could pretty much catch Pike anywhere to be honest, rigs and baits don’t have to be complicated. However if you were going to come to Europe to fish for pike then there are probably better country’s where they get a lot bigger :)

Ian Wilson great stuff Ian, would love to know what the broads were like in the 70/80’s for fishing, was there a good number of big pike and perch? Thanks for watching 👍

@@FanterFishing By bro in Law had a caravan in Caister in the early 1980s we stayed there regularly and had fishing trips out to Ormesby broad, i did not pred fish then, just coarse but 40lb + bags of bream were the norm with some specimen roach and several 1,5lb plus perch were regularly caught, all on the feeder.

What size hook and Lb fluorocarbon did you use for drop shot method bud?
@FanterFishing
@FanterFishing 5 жыл бұрын
Craig Jackson hi mate never really seemed to be too concerned by fluorocarbon breaking strain, anywhere between 6-10lb really, I usually use the ESP dropshot hooks, and if using big lobworms or lures will generally use size 6, but have also used 8’s and 4’s.

great fishing good to see you using mat and respect for the fish. we were down at wroxham end of september and was sad to see kids catching fish and watched them flap about on the paths, couldnt unhook the pike and just threw them back after being butchered for several minutes this does no good for the sport. well done keep up the good work show how things should be done.
@FanterFishing
@FanterFishing 6 жыл бұрын
trangia777 hi mate, fish care is always a priority for us, not a trophy shot or weight. And very important that a mat is used and the fish are put through minimal stress. Yep I’ve seen similar on the broads unfortunately, fish left with trebles in their throats and put back in the river , which will most likely lead to a slow death where they can no longer eat properly which is a horrible thought. I have seen it in videos from fairly local anglers and have offered to show them how to correctly handle and unhook pike, at the end of the day if you can’t handle them and unhook pike then you shouldn’t be fishing for them. Thanks for tuning in, hopefully see you in future videos aswell :)

Got a few odd clips so next video might be a selection of clips from the year that didn't make the cut.
