I do have to say, being a fan of War of the Worlds media, that this reflects H.G. Wells' work. The scene involving the H.M.S. Thunderchild, described as some sort of ironclad "ram," is only one chapter. It is a celebrated chapter as, spoiler alert for an over a century old story, scores a win and many folks thirst for more. Giving it a backstory against the 1898 invasion (mind you the astronomers in the books describe the launching of the cylinders as happening way before it lands while most modern versions start with the landing or shortly before) is in keeping with the story. I'd say, you need all three parts.

I will admit to not having read the source material. I have seen the films and of course listened to the classic Orson Welles radio broadcast. So you could very well be correct in your assessment. Problem is, the creators chose to publish it in three parts...so I have to judge each issue on its merits. I don't discuss vaporware. Sure, there could be issues with finances, logistics, etc. in only printing one part at a time -- I'll grant that. But is that my fault? Should I have not discussed that which was in front of my face? Also, they charged a lot of money for this comic. Because of that, I hold it to a higher standard than for, say, an 8-page photocopied minicomic. I praised the parts that I felt were worth praising...and discussed the rest. It's a quality looking comic and sounds like something right up your alley. If that's the case, I highly recommend it.
