Faputa is part relic because she has three eggs in her, which are relics. That's why her eyes are like that at the end. Reg had a symbol very similar to this on his helmet before

@@HELLios6 but he can't get Incinerator charges by eating I don't think? Maybe if he ate a lot, but so far the only time we've seen him gain incinerator charges was when he got high on electricity at Idofront

@@aloeTevi The way I understand it, Reg can use both food and electricity as "fuel" to recharge/repair himself, but he can only get incinerator charges from electricity (as that seems to require way more power to operate).

Faputa's basic instincts are to destroy the village and put an end to irumyui's life. Similar as basic instincts for us are to survive, eat, etc. That's why its so dificult to her to change her mind about killing the villagers.

This is like one of the top animes of all time imo. I'd put it up there with things like Neon Genisis Evangelion and Akira. The concept of literally diving into a pit where one's very humanity is lost is all too symbolic. Philosophically rivaling Neon and Artistically with Akira. That said I don't think ANY anime has ever topped the sound design and music in this series.

I've just realised that Faputa is trying to fufill all her mother's wishes not just the revenge as seen in one of the when she asks Reg to have children with her when he comes back because her mother always wanted to have kids.

Definitely my own anime of the season. It's just a roller coaster of emotions. The music and animation are perfect. Story is dark and it built up to this Faputa against the Village conflict really well. And I can't say enough how much Irumyui and Faputa triggers my must-protecc instincts and it makes their suffering even harder to watch. Kudos to the VA. It's just amazing.

I'm pretty sure the village is done for now. Even if Faputa stopped killing the villagers, I don't think the barrier keeping everything else out is going to last much longer, and everyone who was transformed in the village can't exist without the barrier.

Man I cannot believe it's been 11 weeks since the season started, time goes by so fast when you look forward to each week so much. In these last few episodes I am just speechless, there are some nitpicks here and there but to be honest they've adapted the source material as flawlessly as they can. Next week there won't be a Made in Abyss in preparation for the big finale that is gonna be an hour long, can't wait to see how they conclude this arc, see you in two weeks!

OMG, this episode.You will cry for a robot and Belaf giving Faputa his memories as well. I wonder if Nanachi is right with Wazukan's scheme. We shall see, but TWO WEEKS to wait??? So now the villagers are giving a piece of themselves to become part of Faputa's value? Is that it? Her absorption of them kinda made her like the original group. Ironic. And her new form with the pattern on her eye???? THought only robots have that. I forget why Riko is so beat. Does blowing the whistle drain that and the user? The Dragons showing up with their posse all rolling up to was incredible and we see how utterly dangerous and unrelenting the beasts are of this level. I mean, they kicked the crap out of Faputa!

Yeah in terms of anime this season the only thing I think I'd put anywhere close to this in terms of story telling and characters is probably Lycoris Recoil and i haven't even seen it all yeah. There's some other good stuff like call of the night, Classroom of the elite (depends on who you ask, this season is no where near as good as the first), overlord or when will ayumu make his move(which is one of my favorite romances)
