***** About Venison for Dinner *****
Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey! Our family- Kate and Marius plus our five kids, have always enjoyed living a homemade life whenever possible. Moving 1000 miles north in 2017 to Northern BC, Canada upped our game even more. We live on a 34 acre homestead and get a kick out of things like raising our own meat, dairy and vegetables. Theres plenty of failures, you’ll be sure to see those here too. We’re a homeschooling family who believes life is the best teacher but we do hit the books in winter. I’m so glad you’re here, I hope you stick around!
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

I just want to say that I love YT because while we couldn’t live further apart in North America, I’ve learned so much from you! I married a farmer, but we live and work with his whole family, including my MIL who is an OG Appalachian style homesteader. I, a mere woman from the city, was quite intimidated having self taught my cooking skills, never touching a cow, and didn’t even realize you could make cheese or sourdough at home. 🙈 You’re both delightful and educational, and I thank you so much for catching me up to speed. I now bottle feed my own calves, help milk my own Jersey, make cheese, yogurt, and sourdough and loads of other homesteady things to be able to contribute to my MIL’s delight.

Hi Kate, just want to thank you for being so kind as to share your wonderful family and life with us. I hope the rude people out there will think before they speak or type. You people are great. I admire you so much (although I myself don't homestead and live a vegan lifestyle, we share values and respect has no moral boundaries!!). So real and down to the ground. All of your family! Love what you do on your homestead and how you run your household and family, your mentallity and no-bs attitude! To people who don't appreciate this: don't watch!! No need to make hatefull comments. Thousands of other channels whill give you the content you desire. If you can't say (or type) it with empathy don't say (or type) it at all.

I am relatively new to your channel but I love it! You live like I would like to, but we can't leave my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters. We also have my mother-in-law who depends on us. We do what we can with what we have and like you, we are rich and it has nothing to do with our bank account. Thank you, lovely lady, for your time and effort on your channel. It is very appreciated by me!

Your videos are our families favorite! I have kids about the same ages as your oldest 4. My boys made a worm farm yesterday and said, “mom we’re just like Mack and Hamish! Hey Kate. 👋 1. I'm with you... if you wouldn't say it to somebody face to face...better to not put it on the Internet either. I mean, for goodness sake, there is a thing called common decency! 2. There are far too many crazy people out there wanting to get up to mischief and them asking where you live is a big RED FLAG 🚩 You are a smart person and recognise that. 3. Which is one of my moto's, and is a little crude so please forgive me.... Opinions are like A holes, everybody has one but some of them are uglier than others. 4. Due to my own personal circumstances a long term commitment as far as membership is not viable any longer. The bundle on cheese making may be of better use so I will definitely be checking this one out. 🥰👍Thank you so much for the considerate and thoughtful way you treat your subscribers. Many just consider the money for themselves but you care about others, and it shows by these actions. That is greatly appreciated‼️ All the best to you, Marius and the children. Take care and blessings from the UK 🌞💯🥰🙏💝

Just consider that people who make negative comment - are nontheless commenting and this counts towards popularity ratings according to KZbin. Social Media gives people who have issues the platform to put other people down - it reflects on them rather than you.

I have a question about the canning, I noticed when you had showed us the “canning pantry” some of your jars didn’t have the rings on them. I also noticed in this video some didn’t have them on them either so it had me wonder because I have never canned before. Do you only use the rings when you make pressure in the jar? I thought it might open the seal when you take off the ring? Do you think you could do a canning video and chat a bit about the process?
@CollegeADHDCoach
@CollegeADHDCoach 2 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s standard to remove the rings before storing. Welcome to canning it’s so fun
@VenisonforDinner
@VenisonforDinner 2 жыл бұрын
It's generally advised that you remove the rings after the jar has sat for 24 hours, before you store your full jars. If the jar is properly sealed, it does not take the lid off when you remove the ring.
