Hello, I am aware of IS CALCULATION concept. But for one loop only. Like BARRIER to JB to LT. But I am not sure how would be the process for IS like this case. BARRIER to JB to FIT to FE? How is The cable from FIT for FE considered in calculation? In my case, I have a flow element with its own instrinsic parameter.. then a transmitter with its own instrinsic parameter also.. so Im confuse how consider it in IS calculation?

Hello, i have a question, if one design a field device according to Ex m (encapsulation protection) does this field device still need energy limiting barriers? In other words, can a Ex m certificated field device, for installation in Ex areas, be non intrinsically safe, or will a Ex m certisfyed device always ALSO have to be intrinsically safe approved, and HAVE to use safety barriers? If a Ex m device do not need safety barriers, then what kind of cabling does it have to use, Ex i cabling ot Ex d cabling, or something else?

Not really accurate information I would say also a little misleading: "Simple apparatus shall be clearly identifiable by durable labelling." 16.4 Simple apparatus Simple apparatus is independent of the equipment protection level. Simple apparatus shall be clearly identifiable by durable labelling. IEC 60079-14 Labelling for simple apparatus may be by any party, including the manufacturer or installer, and may be by any designation marking or code preferred for the installation such that it is clearly identifiable as simple apparatus. Additional information to assist in the identification of the simple apparatus such as a reference to the instrument loop number may also be marked.
