This is interesting. Nursing student ako dito sa US. Our timeline and pre-requisites vary from school to school. Ang hirap makapasok ng Nursing Program dito. May mga various Nursing programs dito. We have Associate of Nursing Degree (ADN) which is only 2 years and can get you the Registered Nurse License, we have Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), at meron ding Masters of Science in Nursing Direct entry where you already have a Bachelors in any degree and just take the core classes to get the nursing degree and get the MSN upon graduation. Then, there’s the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). BUT before you can get into any of these programs, you need to satisfy all the pre-requisites muna like anatomy and physiology, chemistry, biology etc… You also needed to pass the HESI test or the TEAS test to even get admitted to the nursing school. All schools here wont even allow you to enroll without finishing those classes. Kaya matagal dito ang nursing degree. You need to finish muna mga required classes before applying sa nursing school. Plus, all Nursing programs require their own GPA grades, letter of recommendation, health care job hours. May kanya kanya silang requirements bago ka matanggap, and usually it takes 2-3 tries on average bago matanggap ang isang applicant. It took me 2 years to finish all my requirements bago ako natanggap sa nursing program na pinasukan ko ngayon.

If you really wanna pursue nursing, it’s best to take Health Allied Strand or STEM. I believe until now limited schools pa rin ang nag ooffer ng Health Allied, UST does.

Hello, how much did you spend each year for tuition, books, other fees, allowance, transportation, etc? thank you for your estimate, I'm really interested in nursing! The tuition you listed is for private or public school ?

I studied in UST which is a private school. Tuition: around 160k to 180k pesos Books: 3k to 6k (I usually download pdf books so I can save money) Allowance: 2k per week (including transportation, fortunately, I have a groupmate/friend who let us carpool during hospital duties before pandemic) If you are going to join school organizations, there are also additional expenses on that.

Unfortunately, yes if this pandemic continues. Ang nirequire lang ng CHED mag limited face to face ay fourth yr students. So by next sem, we are required na maglimited face to face or apply for LOA. Goodluck dear! 💛

It depends if may interview yung alternative program mo or umabot ka sa cut off ng application. But most likely pag qualified ka din naman tatanggapin ka naman nila. Just inquire right away kasi baka ubusan ng slots.

It's going to be really difficult. Kailangan magaling ka mag manage ng time mo, and expect na sobrang nakakapagod talaga. I do not discourage you especially if need naman talaga.

May classmates akong from ABM din but wala silang tinake na bridging program. As long as you pass the USTET and interview, they will accept you. Then later on, the cut off.

Yes, i think nag aaccept sila since i have classmates before na sa ibang bansa sila lumaki and nag hs. I’m not just sure anong requirements ang need but rest assured they will provide it to you and no need umulit ng shs.

In first year, there is a cutoff kasi so if you fail a subject. Matatanggal ka na sa nursing. But sa higher years, you have to wait for another yesr just to take that course that you failed.

usually pag first yr around 65 to 75k then kapag may hospital duty na during 2nd year doon na nag mamahal. sa batch ko kasi noong 4th yr kami i think around 85k to 90k pero yung lower batch namin nag mahal na sa batch nila kasi na promote din daw mga professor so more or less 100k na sakanila

That's a really hard decision! If you are really passionate in taking care of people and being at the bedside of patient, you should go for nursing. But, if you excel on biology specifically studying species and all of that stuff, go for medtech. I am currently working on a video about "what''s the best pre-med program", so watch out for that! hehe goodluck!
