Thanks for the Video! Just FYI the Pyramids are really easy to make, using the bump tool, turn the speed up and hardness all the way down should make a pyramid when raised :) Thanks everyone for the comments! Getting the environment settings right was vital for this map :)

I've played about 10 mins of Origins, It's not completely based off the game! But to be fair, Origins was a good source for reference images :P

There is an option for " Square Brush " when painting terrain, so i think they slowly started elevating building towards the peak, really cool x 3

I think if you raise a square shaped section (very low "hardness") to a certain height it might work, if not perfectly flat faces then use the ramp terrain tool along the flat/even ground surfaces at the base of your roundish pyramid, just along each of the four sides (~50% hardness) so that you effectively cut/carve out an angled face. I know managed it in far cry 4 using some sort of combination of these ideas, but when the pyramids were at very far draw distances, they became very jagged in appearance because the terrain geometry is simplified at larger draw distances in far cry 4.

Actually, yeah you just use "Raise/Lower tool" and choose 0 for "hardness" using the square shaped tool. It will make a pyramid for you (you can even make obelisks). It wasn't that easy in Far Cry 4 and there doesn't seem to be a draw distance issue in far cry 5 on my PS4 pro compared to far cry 4 on my old PS4. The only Problem is that in Far Cry 4 there was one (only one) tiled/paved texture that could kind of pass off as stone work on slanted terrain. Now there is no pavement textures for terrain in far cry 5, so I would recommend "light" coloured "gravel" as a finished limestone look, although the texture they have chosen looks kind of like block work from a distance.

haha very true, making those pyramids blend in with the environment got a bit tricky, and I was going to make a V2 of this map with the newer assets but i'm not too sure yet

because in a few month or even years it will be impossible to find a map for a specific Game Mode. Lets say i want to search his content for a good Team Deathmatch map in 5 months from now, but due to the fact that there is no Info in the title i have to Start watching every video he ever made? In this case i rather unsubcribe and get my weekly map updates from someone else who categorize his Videos.

Hey, do you or does anyone know how to equip extensions to weapons in far cry arcade editor? I'm on console (PS4) I can lay weapons but don't see a selection for adding those. Thanks if so!

Also, the pyramids were made with the bump square terrain editor. When the speed is high enough you can get that shape pretty easily actually.

I would like to post my desert maps but i have the game cracked so... And u can make dunes looks better , and using base Shangri la buildings is a bit uninspired although i can't seem to be able to do pyramids and a sphinx

They aren't base ShangriLa buildings, they're built from the ShangriLa fences (custom built)

I built the buildings, I didn't intend on it representing current day Egypt, otherwise I'd have made the Pyramids weathered, It's supposed to be my view of how the Egyptian Era would have been in my mind. I wasn't trying to be 100% culturally accurate. Otherwise for me, the map would have been a lot more dull and boring :)
