Joseph is my number 1 by a landslide. He is crazy, yet he acts reasonable. Unlike Vaas for instance who just wants to see you dead. He gives you plenty of chances to either walk away, join them, or if you wish, fight them. And only if you fight him he will try and hurt you. This is what makes him so special. He just wants to do his thing and isn't bothered by you unless you give him a reason. Also what makes him my number 1 is simply the way he's talking and his antics as well as his promises of a better and easier life if you just accept him as your father. I find myself in the spot of Faith more often in life than not, no purpose, desperate, depressed. Then Joseph came along and suddenly you had a purpose. You weren't a nobody anymore, you had reason to be happy again. What I mean is, I totally get Faith. I get why she joined, why she believed it. Because I'm in a similar position myself like she was before she came across Joseph. This is how cults work and with a charismatic leader like Joseph, unhappy people will join you left right and center. Not saying I would join but I get why people do it. Furthermore, Joseph always warns us about impending doom, the collapse as he likes to call it. Is he wrong? Aren't we always almost at war with each other? Sooner or later something will happen, it just needs one fool to light the match and a chain reaction will start that drags the whole world into it. He isn't a false prophet, he is quite cunning in warning us about future events that will eventually happen. This is what makes him my number 1 villain. Or isn't he a true villain after all?

Jackal always saw the main character as an equal. At the beginning of the game he stood taller but at the end he stood equal. He was a Man of his words, whatever choice you make Jackal dies with you in the end. He didn’t fear anything and his only drive was to simply end a war. He saves you every time you meet with him. Which gives whatever character you choose in Far Cry 2 the lightest bit more special. He also gave a quote that damn near compares to Vaas’s insanity quote. “You can’t break a man the way you break a horse or a dog, the harder you break a man, the taller he stands”. It’s shows his commitment and I feel contrasts very nicely with all the other Villians in Far Cry. Seeing their backstory’s shows what they did and how they did bigger than what themselves expected. What you see with the Seed family, Vaas, Pagan etc. Jackal is the foundation of the Far Cry Villains.

Jackal is the greatest FC antagonist for two reasons : First he's nicely written, introduced and useful, he needs the protagonist all way long to make the story end (you help him pass weapons for civilians, he help you not to die in a desert storm, you finally help him die as urself. He is as useful as you to the scenario. Secondly he's the only one not having ridiculously violent scenes just to tell the player : "Oh look that's the Bad Guy, cause he makes Bad Guy things" like Pagan or Vaas. Honestly as much as this won’t happen. I want a far cry game where the villain is someone who you’re forced to cooperate with. Like both you and the villain are tied together and MUST cooperate to get out because he got you both in a situation that will have you both killed but you need each other in order to live creating this crazy dynamic and more time with a villain who can at some point run off for some big huge showdown or maybe bring in that secondary villain so around the end the two characters don’t exactly have to agree or get along but they find a common purpose to not kill each other seamlessly work together and the level progression could be tied to it as well. Instead of “leveling up” or upgrading some system it’s like “oh these guys trust each other just enough to show some of their tricks and teach the other to do it yet enough to make both characters feel different to play giving you a good reason to swap between the two

In my own opinion Hoyt was the real Villain of Far Cry 3, Vaas was just a puppet to him and if while Vaas is crazy I also view him as someone who is constantly backed into a corner, first from Citra, then from Hoyt Pagan is the most likeable villain, the way he treats Ajay like a son after losing Ishwari and Lakshmana seems wholesome in my eyes, even while Ajay spends the entirety of FC4 trying to kill Pagan While Joseph had good intentions by starting Eden’s Gate, the way he executed things was horrible, he also is an incredibly broken man, I don’t think any sane person would murder there Daughter like that
@calamityarmityle30862 жыл бұрын
Solid list until the end. I hate when people rank Vaas as the best villain of all the games. He's just an insane drug lord, his motivation for what he does is purely for evil and profit. That's generic and uninteresting. Pagan Mins motivation was to be closer to his step son, that's why Yuma Paul and Noer ruled while he was a recluse. That's way more interesting and layered than an insane drug lord who just wants money and chaos.
@rekdyoface45032 жыл бұрын
Vaas was an amazing to most people, he had amazing voice acting, amazing lines and was a badass. Also you obviously haven’t played the game in a while if you think he is a ‘generic drug lord who is insane’.

I genuinely feel we could count Jason and Vaas's sister from FC3 as villians, while hes our character hes not a good man in anyway and she manipulates his inner lust for power all the way and to some extent Vaas could be seen as a victim of his circumstances not innocent but he never really knew anything else but violence

Far cry the "villain" on the cover is rarely the villain in the game, the villain is usually you. That's what makes far cry so good.

The most memorable Vaas quote to me is the quote about his family. "So they say to me, they say Vaas, Vaas, who the FUCK is it going to be? THEM or ME, ME or THEM? Like, like you know, like they fucking think that I need to make a fucking choice. By the way this lighter really sucks."

it's truly Vaas, Pagin Min and Joeseph Seed. these guys were the best villains Far Cry and Ubisoft ever made and i am excited to not only see if it's true that Vaas is the protagonist for Far Cry 7, but to see Pagin Min as the protagonist in Far Cry 8 and Joeseph Seed as the protagonist for Far Cry 9

The best villains are those that have been fleshed out the most, along with stellar performances by the actors portraying them. This is why my favorites are Vaas and Joseph. Michael Mando and Greg Bryk just steal the show and run away with it. The fact that the characters actually look like the actors helps a lot. Many great performances are dulled by the CGI treatment.

I emailed them begging for a Vaas game. Such an arc, backstory. At least we got the dlc.

I know the video is a couple months old but greg byrks performance in far cry 5 tops vaas. He actually connected to his character and his character wanted the best for the world. I say Joseph and his family is the first on my ranking and second would be pagen min. Because I would definitely choose to eat the crab Rangoon over dealing with the world lol

Krieger isn't only antagonist in Far Cry 1. There's Doyle, and he's the actual plot twist in the end. While Krieger was obvious villain, Doyle was the one actually helping you get out of the island and save Val, or at least you think he's helping you. At the end of the game, after you defeat Krieger, Doyle reveals himself as traitor who wants to sell super serum on the black market, going as far as to trick Jack and Val into injecting themselves with mutagen before eliminating Krieger and most of his mercenaries and trigens. I'm not saying that it suddenly makes the plot so much better, just pointing it out.

I'll go with: 1) The Jackal 2) Pagan 3) Vaas then there's a huge gap 4) Buddies (some people might not get this one, others will) 5) Joseph 6) Buck 7) John 8) Citra 9) Hoyt 10) Faith 11) Jacob 12) Yuma Honourable mentions: - The crocodile that jumped out of the water and attacked me in FC3 - The malaria that tried to kill me, as well as my shotgun exploding in my hands (the bastard!) in Far Cry 2 - That motherf*cking honey badger in FC4 - And the plane that landed on my head after I shot its pilot in FC5 Haven't played Primal, 6 and New Dawn. But from what I've seen from playthroughs, they wouldn't get close to the top 5 anyway... And I'm not going to put in the villains of Blood Dragon, 1 and the Instincts games because they were obvious B-movie villains. They did their job for the plot, but were never meant to be very complex characters.

Please explain me the things about buddies
@tominatorxx Жыл бұрын
@@ioio2216 In Far Cry 2 you had allies/buddies you could help with their side missions. Helping them upgraded your savehouses, which helped with making the game a little bit easier since you could get supplies there like syringes, grenades, etc. These buddies came to rescue you if you were downed in a fight. They also could die during the side missions or when rescuing you, which meant you had a buddy less to rely upon if something happened to you. That actually meant quite a bit in the incredibly hostile environment of Far Cry 2. However, at the end of the game all the buddies that are still alive betray you and try to kill you because they want the suitcase of diamonds you have (which you want to use to bribe the guards at the border). Basically more buddies that are alive during the game make the game slightly easier, but the final firefight will be a lot harder.

I personally think the Seed family are the best villains of Far Cry, and maybe even the best villains in video game history. The whole family tells a story. It's a story about trauma. More specifically, how trauma affects us, makes us into monsters when not treated correctly, and how it affects family. Every member of the Seed family have been molded by their specific traumas. Faith was a drug addict. She became a druglord. Jacob was a soldier, who was forced to betray, kill and eat his comrade. Now, he makes others betray their comrades and justifies his own actions to retain what little sanity he has left. John was abused and forced to admit to things he never did. Now he makes people confess. And Joseph? He keeps a tight grip on his family because he doesn't want a repeat of his wife's death - a tragic accident. He became a preacher to cope with loss. He became a 'father' to a family he was once denied.

I think we can all agree that the version of Far Cry 4 would’ve been a more fun/better story if the story was around teaming up with Pagan and battling with the concept of teaming up with him over the legacy of Mohan and the Golden Path. Though perhaps the concept of siding with a dictator might be too controversial which is kind of hilarious given what Amita and Sabal do.

For me Vaas will be the best ever. I started playing Far Cry 3 just because of him because in that time I had no idea that Vass was not the protagonist of the Game and I have to say that Vass is the reason that I'm playing Far Cry games nowadays. After Vass I really liked Joseph and Pagan. Pagan with his style and the way he interact with ajay and Joseph for his religious believes.
