I find that when I shoot my sweep single for this move I kind of over commit and my knee is behind their ankle preventing me from executing the fireman’s carry should I try to avoid this?

The far leg fireman's motion is similar to a sweep single leg but as you have discovered not exactly the same. You should develop the move if you are interested in getting back points. You must drill the move enough until it becomes automatic. The penetration step should drop your knee on the mat between his knees for perfect leverage. Focus on that and you will not get stuck behind the ankle.

20+ years of doing it! But I did not hit everything I teach. I have seen it, can teach it but not all of it fit my style or shape for wrestling. I have to know it in order to teach guys I coach depending on size, shape, flexibility, etc.

Yeah but the crucifix he is talking about is the one that guys use in mma which will not work in wrestling and will only get you pinned. A peterson roll in wrestling is basically putting yourself in an "mma" crucifix because you can pin the guy if u "crucifix" yourself

ok im the only girl on Canandaigua middle school team and most people say that girls cant wresle it sucks real bad but its fun. Then i get asked isnt it weard being on the boys team? And i say no not really they dont treat me diferent so i feel ok like one of the guys wich makes me feel good bout my self. I hate that people think i am weard but im not im just doing somthing I LOVE. Wresling is a great sport and I think girls should be able to play, dont you?

In wrestling you lose if you stay on your back. Crucifix is a dominant position in BJJ, but in wrestling it's the Peterson position and the man on top has the pin
