Great video. I hope the CYKZ scenery I made can help many pilots to experience some nostalgic moments once again, thanks for featuring it.

Very cool video, that transition between the drone footage and the sim was smooth! So sad to see yet another airport closed.

It's beginning to look as if Toronto Island/Billy Bishop Airport may be the subject of one of these farewell videos too before very long...

Thank you for making this and sharing - YKZ has so many memories for me also. From Discovery Flight to getting my ticket it was always a welcome home.

Nice video my friend. Shame it’s closed, I wonder what will happen to it now? When it’s in the marketplace sale in MSFS I will buy it as it’s already in my favs section.

Thanks Andrew! The airport will be demolished and warehouses will be built :(

So sad… I did 4 discovery flights there to build some hours to get a head start, and looked at starting my flight training there, I regret not doing so. Now I am inbetween 3 flight schools; Brampton, Oshawa and Barrie. The town of Markham will regret this decision (I know it was privately owned and sold off) Buttonville brought in a lot of income.

Ima student at Brampton it’s a good school, expensive though

Kiril, this was a very well produced and touching story. I came away wondering one thing... WHY was Buttonville decommissioned? I never got to hear that part of the story. Please tell us?
@flightstreamer Жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul :) The land was purchased by Cadillac Fairview, a commercial real estate company that decided to shut the airport down after the end of the lease agreement, in favor of building commercial warehouses. There was no support from local governments.

I have an idea you should have a sort of gathering (on msfs2020) with the Canadian national patrol embodied by players who will pass over the airport one last time.

I'm thinking about doing a tribute live stream on MSFS actually. Perhaps we can open it up for anyone to join, for a virtual low pass & some landings

@@flightstreamer Yeah, the landing @ Istanbul was quite hickery. But that was probably not caused by the the new setup.
