Hey 皆, thanks for watching this one! After reporting on Masuyama Eiko's passing in June, I thought it would be worthwhile to expand that bit of writing into a video giving tribute to her and her four contemporaries in the "classic" Lupin cast. With all the pilot and series 2 main cast having now passed away, it's really the end of an era for Japanese media and anime. Hope You find this video enjoyable, and hopefully respectful as well.

Such iconic voice actors tbh. May they enjoy their next life at least as much as this one.

This was a great way to honour the original Lupin cast. I learned so much about each member and their careers before they were cast as the Lupin gang. Awesome work mate. May all these legends RIP.

Although I missed some of the later Lupin TV series and films, I have to say I at least caught the first TV episodes back in 1971 while a high schooler in Yokohama. I never thought it would go on so long.

Closest things to that was Lupin and Jigen making a cameo in a city hunter movie and Ryo making a cameo in the Lupin Vs Cat's eye movie. It could easily happen since they're both owned by TMS.

@@Number1WarioFan I could see Ryo and Falcon giving Jigen trouble and Ryo could be hired with interpol too help Detective Zenagata too catch Lupin but ryo becomes a perv around Fujiko too and Kaori has too beat Ryo and Lupin up with the mallet for being pervs lol

This is a very nice video honouring the voice actors of the original Lupin The 3rd series. I felt that I learned a lot from this and really interesting to learn about what life was like back then. May they rest peacefully in a better place.

Thank you for such a lovely tribute to these folks. There's very little information in English on them, so it was interesting to learn about their backgrounds and lives, and how they came into the roles we remember them for today.

Glad you appreciated the video! The nice thing is that they’re all such nostalgic and memorable figures in Japan that there were plenty of easy-access Japanese-language sources about them.

I got into Lupin the Third during 2021 after I had finished watching Detective Conan and I had started watching the movies. I had watched both Lupin the Third Crossovers so I was curious about the series as a whole. I did start with part 1 and worked my way up to the current series of where we are now. It was a great series and has some of my favorite music in anime. The composer is great and I'm glad to have seen him stick with the series for so long with his fantastic jazz band. I did notice the cast changes in the later series and it did take me a bit to get used to some of the new voices. It is odd to think the voice actor for Jigen had voiced him all the way from 1969 up to 2021 and the sendoff they gave him was great. I didn't even know the voice actress for Fujiko had died earlier this year as I was still under the impression she was still alive but it's sad to know they're all gone now except for one who hadn't voiced Fujiko since the pilot Also with part 2 it was obvious to notice the episodes Miyazaki had done. His episodes were pretty obvious with his signature style he had developed for his film studio and for the fact the animation was on another level, especially for the time. All of his episodes were extremely well animated and offered a notably different style than others and often had his signature flying machines as well

@@UnseenJapan Funny thing is my local Honda dealership has a late 1960s Honda model that looks a LOT like Lupin III's classic Fiat! The car is in excellent shape for being over 50 years old. It was restored for display but hasn't been driven in many years. I took some photos of it. I think it's the N360 mini-car. It's amazing they have that car in Columbus, Ohio!
