However in each episode we will open another box of the next set that was released, moving in chronological order, constantly upgrading our decks before dueling each other at the end of each episode. TBH I expected Gage to stick to Deskbots. The deck got wrecked hard by Dinomist, which is exactly why Gage shouldn't switch. Both know that if the matchup repeats, the results will be the same, so Cimo would never expect Gage to still play Deskbots.

I see we are ignoring that when cimo initially torrented to kill gage's board one of the paleos should have been set and therefore sent to grave, which would've meant gage would've been able to cut off 1 body from cimo's summons and that cimo probably would not have won game 1 so soon.

I think you misunderstood. If Paleos are treated (in this case, the wording is "considered") as traps then barrier statue won't work, but when they're special summoned, they turn into monsters. No one in the right mind would think that somehow they are monsters with the "trap" type/attribute.

@@Dantelor Nope, trap cards specify, what type, attribute and level the summoned trap monster is. Paleo traps say summon a (Aqua/ Water/ Level 2/ ATK 1200/ DEF 0) + This is not treated as a monster. Metal reflect slime says: (Aqua/ Water/ Level 10/ ATK 0/ DEF 3000) Trap monsters just have attributes in the Card text, that was my point.

anyway farfa is wrong about the torrential tribute timing. because even if monster is summoned as chain link 2, the summon of a monster is considered another phase of the game state, you activate torrential tribute on resolution, thats why you can activate torrential on this instance.
