Next time i partook, its MD table 500 and its a combo that quite literally breaks the game as the game isnt coded to handle the situation, but for now, Iris draw loop should be enough entertaining (for those wondering, the deck in the Lightsworn replay was not stacked, i just sacked those mills)

Like the six samurai loop to gain enough counters to virtually summon infinite monsters (you'd just say "I do that 69420 times" and gain the respective amount of counters on your cards). In this case, cards are being drawn and deckout would be the end of the loop

I think the only way to FTK with Grandpa Demetto is to increase a monster's level to some absurd value and then use Xiangsheng Magician to give that to an Xyz Monster. It'll be back to the drawing board, but we can make this work!

Omg, I recently had a kinda similar experience to the Grandpa FTK submission! I was trying to figure out a Machu Mech FTK and had settled on trying to draw a bunch of cards and use Dark World combos to get to and give my opponent a big Clorless to burn for game. I actually got it to be (somewhat) consistent and was practicing the lines in MD solomode. And on the attempt where I finally didn't fuck up the order somewhere and summoned Clorless and gave it to my opponent and got out Machu Mech, I could not target the opponents Clorless. Because Machu Mech has to target a monster whose atk is different from it's original atk and when Clorless is summoned, it's original atk "becomes" the materials used x1000.

Genuine question about GCD's replay, if you attached Nyarla with a material that gave an xyz monster an effect that detaches for cost would that work? For example something like drake shark (obviously wouldn't work since it has to be a shark drake xyz but just as an example) then using the effect gained would that work for lil ol grandpa?

I'm pretty sure it would. But all the current effects like that are locked to specific cards, types, or archetypes.

That was the first thing I tried looking into after the ftk failed, and yea with the current card pool there's no option for Nyarla gaining a detach effect. Will be something I look out for tho in new card releases.

Gryphon IS linked, just not co-linked. "linked" just means that it is pointing to a monster, OR a monster is pointing to it "Co-linked" means that 2 monsters are pointing to *each other*

Basically, it's because Light and Darkness Dragon's negation effect is a Mandatory Effect. Mandatory Effects activate when their activation conditions are met even if they cannot properly resolve. In this case, the activation condition is "Once per Chain, when a card or effect is activated"; the activation condition doesn't specify that Light and Darkness Dragon has to have both 500 or more ATK and 500 or more DEF. So, a card/effect activates, Light and Darkness Dragon is forced to activate, then on resolution, Light and Darkness Dragon sees that it cannot decrease both its ATK and DEF by the required amount, so it resolves without effect.
