It’s not supposed to represent a format. It’s based on the Dragoon challenge he did on stream a few years ago, where you would have to play through Dragoon + other disruptions. Also all the floodgates were at 1 copy in the deck

They’re usually supplemental to other strategies and I just feel it’s unfair to play with banned or limited cards to prove that another legal card deserves to be on the list with them. He played Imperial Order in the video which does deserve its spot on the list. Fenrir just seems like a non problem in comparison.

Its main value is as a deck thinner going first, and going second it's basically a worse Pankratops since it can't dodge targeted OR field negation(I.e. It'd make them a bit worse going 2nd and easier to out in few situations, but I doubt it'll do much. The problem with the deck is that the lvl 7s have no summon restriction, not event hard opt on summon. They're still a free summon lvl 7 searcher with very good interruption and insanely splashable even with bad stats. They're not hard to out on their own (or in pure Kash), but as an engine, you'll have to deal with them as an addition to already good board, so atk won't matter most of the time.

The easy answer is that between the two Talent is a reactive card that equalizes the game state (and can easily bring you to victory). Fenrir is a proactive card, that you summon for free and gets you a raw +1, then it can eats a disruption as well as banish a card, then it can go over a lot of things in battle. And it's one of the most generic monster staples that can search itself and has got a searcher for it as well. So yeah, Fenrir is a free +3 basically. At 1 is fine, I wouldn't ban it imho.

To the people complaining about Farfa playing 3 copies of cards on the Banlist in some form and saying this invalidates the video, might I remind you that Farfa can't pick the cards in his hand in Master Duel. He would have 15 Fenrir in his Deck to offset the chance of needing to restart the Duel because it wasn't in his opening hand so having 3 copies of cards allows him to actually see cards his opponent needs to try and play through. As for the nature of even running the Floodgates and other cards, Fenrir is at his worst when combined with other problematic legal cards. It's not like he was playing Magical Scientist and friends featuring Kashtira Fenrir. Regardless, just because a card can be dealt with doesn't mean that its presence is acceptable and healthy for the game. Just because you can Trap Jammer a Selfdestruct Button doesn't mean that Selfdestruct Button being legal is a good idea.

I'll be honest, I don't really get the whole Kashtira Hate. Yeah the deck is strong but it's by no means invincible, it's got its flaws like every deck does. Especially since it's a deck that can easily be niburu'd and it does tend to brick badly when it does.

The deck was absurdly overcentralising in TCG and every game vs Kash is just "Did you draw an out to arise heart?". Kash also had Diablosis, which is why a lot of people still hate Kash. Unicorn's effect in innately tilting and is a form of interaction that you can't prep for. Arise heart is very annoying, being a walking floodgate and usually at least 1 banish. The deck plays dimension shifter, which a lot of people hate. Finally, many people just hate any deck that saw competitive relevance in the last 3-5 years.

It's still 25% usage without the ability to search itself though. It also see play mostly in high tier decks like Tear and SE more than its own deck. Tearlaments by itself is already an issue and even without fenrir it's already a menace to anyone that goes against the deck. Besides, fenrir's only real ability outside of kashtira using decks is having a free summon and banishing one card that's faced up on the field. Now from my own personal experience, tearlaments players don't always go for fenrir, but rather unicorn to disable their opponents best extra deck monsters, and even then there are many outs to it. Snake eyes, regardless of using fenrir or not (I've never seen them use it but it's whatever), is going to make someone have a bad day if they don't have complete board removal cards like dark ruler no more, evenly matched, raigeki and harpie's feather duster.
